PlayStation Move Sharp Shooter Accessory Unveiled

PlayStation Move is one hell of an accurate, sensitive controller. Therefore, if you plan on getting involved with shooters, you're going to need some reliable stability.

There are a few gun accessories for Move but the official one is on the way: revealed at the PlayStation Blog, the sharp shooter attachment will retail for $39.99 and launch alongside Killzone 3 in February. The accessory can hold both the Move motion wand and the navigation controller, which should provide "complete control over aiming, movement and interaction within the game." Here's part of the update:

"It was designed for both comfort and precision, including easily accessible buttons, a responsive digital trigger, adjustable shoulder stock and convenient access to the navigation controller. In addition, the sharp shooter has incorporated a firing mode selector, realistic pump-action and a reload button that allow for new ways of engagement."

Of course, you'll also be able to use the sharp shooter for SOCOM 4: U.S. Navy SEALs, Dead Space Extraction and Time Crisis: Razing Storm. We can't really recommend the latter unless the accessory in question somehow fixes all the crippling problems, but we also know the sharp shooter could be very cool for better shooters. They've also announced a new "Jungle Green" Dual Shock 3 wireless controller, which will hit store shelves in February for the standard price of $54.99.

my birthday is in feb. i may be getting this gun for mag and a green controller for my bday. green being one of my fav colors and the controller looks sick in this jungle green. that gun has one of the best layouts i have seen as far as the guns go.

I'm looking at it and I don't see anything that's pump action. That's a pretty steep price, but at least that assures the hardcore folks that it isn't just a cheap plastic housing. I'll be playing KZ3 with a good old DS3 though thank you.

But if I get Move some day, it would be super great for the Sega Dreamcast Collection to release a compilation of their light gun games on PSN for use with this thing.

I don't think the Orange part does pump. It looks more like the release clips that the pistols have. The gray piece on the barrel below the orange may slide but I can't tell for sure.

This is a neat attachment, but I'm a little wary about the price as well.

And one problem I've already found with shooter games with the move controller is that a lot of them for some reason have made the Re-Load button as the Move Button...If you have this in a gun attachment it doesn't work that well because you have to reach to the top of your gun in order to reload....It would be cool if they found a way to make the Cabela's Dangerous Hunts 2011 gun into a Move accessory somehow...That game has great potential but the wii motion sensor bar is very picky and kind of ruins the game play...

Actually they shouldn't make it anymore realistic then it already is we in the gaming community have enough troubles dealing with certain people about passing certain laws out in California about the violence in video games without givin them even more ammunition to use against our developers & manufacturers. The design within itself is already SOMEWHAT risky.

the digital trigger part and that it has triangle and circle buttons on it makes me think it may be powered or connect with the move somehow. the bottom of the move having the jacks maybe a plug in the gun.

Having the face buttons mapped is VERY important for games like MAG, SOCOM, Killzone, and Resident Evil. Rail shooters like Time Crisis won't matter nearly as much.

The color of all the guns coming out, or in the market are really retarted. They really stick out from all the electronics I own including my PS3 and Dualshocks.People that make these things might think it doesn't matter but it does.Why can't they make them match the Dualshock colors?? Idiots...

I agree with you. They criminals can fix it with a $1 can of black paint spray, but we have to use a white gun for playing. Change the logo and remove the Move controllers and it looks like an attachment for the Wii controllers.

I believe he was referring to Time Crisis, which received terrible reviews. The "latter" is the last item mentioned...

And some would say KZ3 is better than Socom.

What I like about this new design is the easy access to the Square and Triangle buttons. If you look carefully right above the trigger, you'll notice the buttons. Someone at Sony was using their melon.

This was the major complaint I had with gun attachments for the Move controller. None of them mapped the face buttons making it difficult to use. MAG for example requires you to hit face buttons for in-game actions and having to take your right hand away from the trigger or left hand away from the navigation controller was very clumsy.

This is a must buy for me.

Anyone know if they did something about mapping the Move button? Like I said above, a lot of developers have mapped the Move button in the wrong spot. It works if you're not using a gun attachment because your thumb rests on the move button, but if you're using a gun attachment, it's way out of the way. Although I guess it does force you to move your gun down when you reload, similar to real life..but that's awkward if you have a NAV controller in your other hand...

I haven't seen any additional info regarding the Move button. Though, if you look carefully, they seemed to have mapped other buttons as well. Under the trigger is another button, probably the Move button?

Now that you mention I do see that..If that is what that is, that just moved this accessory up a notch for me.. Like I said previously, I like playing Cabela's with the gun, but the sensor bar is too fussy...If this gun will work as well as I hope, It will make a great attachment. Be interesting to see how well it works with MAG.

Not be a downer but isn't this somewhat risky. I can see parents (Moms in general) making complaints and boycotting about how this teaches they're kids how to shoot people.Don't get me wrong I personally think it looks cool I'm just saying it could be a bit risky.

The gun looks gimmicky because of the color scheme. But looks like it would work well with the layout and extra buttons on the sides. And the selectable switch looks like it would be for changing rate of fire from fully auto to semi and single shot for games that would support it.
