Activision Announces Prototype 2, "Bigger And Better"
The original received a lukewarm reception from critics but still managed to garner plenty of fans. And the second, based on the debut trailer (see it below), should generate even more fans, and perhaps more love from reviewers.
After debuting at the Spike TV Video Game Awards this past weekend, Activision has officially announced Prototype 2; Sgt. James Heller is out to destroy the original anti-hero, Alex Mercer, and things are gonna get nasty. We expect Radical Entertainment will have plenty of time to iron out the kinks found in the first game, and the final product should be well worth playing. Said studio boss Ken Rosman:
"When PROTOTYPE surpassed 2MM units we knew gamers would want a sequel to find out what happens next with Alex Mercer. The team here at Radical is sincerely grateful to the fans and we are laser focused on delivering an even bigger and better experience with PROTOTYPE 2!"
Also, if you missed out on the original title, you can download it now on the Xbox Live Marketplace for $29.99. It will be available on the PlayStation Network tomorrow, December 14, for the same price. Finally, we can expect the first "in-depth preview" to show up in EGM's April 2011 issue. We'll let you know when they nail down a release date for next year.

Also Infamous totally beats it, yeah, I know they're two very different titles, but still, since that discussion always surfaces around the games... Always found it more of the xbox' Infamous, since it has lesser graphics, a lesser story and lesser gameplay.
Anyways, Infamous 2 = D1P

So, Prototype 2 is most likely a pass. A big pass.

I wish people would stop comparing this infamous the only thing these 2 games have in common is the fact that they're both open-world and the protagonists each have powers, besides that they're nothing alike.

This culture of comparing games and getting over protective of one series over another, is getting kinda tired.
As much as I'll gripe over CoD:BO by making references to MoH, I'll offer an opinion based on each games own merits and not on what they're not.
The Prototype V' Infamous debate is equally ridiculous. Throw in the fact that one game is a PS3 exclusive and the other is a multiplat Activision supported game and you get all sorts of fanboy arguments.
I'll respect someone who will debate what they didn't like about Prototype without bringing Infamous or Activision into the fold.
It most certainly wasn't a perfect game but imo it was very enjoyable and not worthy of half of the bad press it received.
I'm definitely interested in seeing how the sequel turns out.

The transforming thing was cool and the running up the side of buildings never got old. I felt more like a superhero in Prototype than I did in Infamous, my opinion.

It is alright to enjoy both 'running up building' games without having to slate the one you least liked completely, just because of who is publishing it or because it's not the exclusive.
