New L.A. Noire Video: MotionScan, Gameplay, Interviews

Although it has been a long time coming, we firmly believe that L.A. Noire will be well worth the wait.

Today, Rockstar has provided us with a new behind-the-scenes video, highlighting the innovative MotionScan technology present in the game. Named "The Technology Behind Performance," this trailer includes commentary from developers Oliver Bao and Brendan McNamara, along with new gameplay and interview footage. Lead actor Aaron Staton speaks; he plays the protagonist, Cole Phelps, and you might know Staton from the award-winning cable TV series, "Mad Men."

We like any game that puts story in the limelight and provides us with a dramatic, thrilling, perhaps even singular experience. The project is wildly ambitious and if it works, it could end up being one of the can't-miss titles of 2011. At the very least, it'll act as a nice contrast to all the heavy action games and shooters in the works.

I'm very interested in this one. The technology is clearly there so all we need now is for the story to be good and we've got a winner for sure.

I've always loved the GTA series, but after RDR, Rockstar could just about sell me anything now. I'm looking forward to this.

I know a lot of people are tangled up in the Rockstar name (despite the fact that they're only the publisher), but this honestly looks like next year's 'Heavy Rain.' And that's high praise from me, considering I believe said title to be the best of this year.

I require this game. I'm afraid it could be lost on the Xbox crowd though. Definitely looking like Heavy Rain.

I know right. Alan Wake looks great and it didn't sell like 'simple old school no strategy mainstream' Halo. Microsoft knows more kids own Xbox's, so we won't see another Alan Wake on that system at least. But the Rockstar title will sell it, but I can see alot of them dissappointed with it like FF fans were with XIII.

Well Rockstar always releases great games. GTA, Midnight Club, Manhunt, and RDR (Revolver too). This shouldn't be an exception. Looks like Heavy Rain superficially, but will Rockstar make is dramatic and personal?...I hope so because they did that with Both GTAIV and RDR, but I hope they take it too another level in this one with dramatic music and what not like Heavy Rain. RDR was the first Rockstar game with music during a cutscene from what I remember. GTAIV didn't even have it until the straight end. Hope this one is heavy with it.

Seems like this will be another massive budget game, Team Bondi is independent right?
So does that mean Rockstar support them financially?

Wow! This is just looking better and better (I thought I had a tough time waiting for RDR). I'll admit that I was dissapointed when LA Noire lost it's exclusivity but this just looks amazing. The funny thing is that I remember a time where we were happy with PS1 era graphics, how technology has changed.

Definitely need to get this day one. When I heard an Aussie studio was doing this I felt glad that the Australian games industry was far from dead.

When I saw the first character speak, I said "Oh wow, Walter Bishop!!" Only to remember later that the actor is actually John Noble. I think I maybe watching too much Fringe. LOL

Back on topic, this game is looking good! I hope it turns out to be on the vein of Heavy Rain. Not necessarily gameplay-wise but you know what I'm trying to say.

Probably because of its story-driven nature and heavy emphasis on the characters (at least with what I've seen so far).
