Playmates Enter A Virtual World For Tribute To Tron
Playboy has been 'cough' supporting the video game industry for years, producing tantalizing photographs in honor of gaming's most popular heroines.
So of course, it stands to reason that the world's leading men's entertainment magazine will pounce on the reemergence of "Tron," three decades after the original wowed the sci-fi-loving world. The new movie, "Tron: Legacy," will be in theaters this week and the game, Tron: Evolution, is already on store shelves. Playboy's tribute is called "Game On" and Playmates Sasckya Porto and Irina Voronina are all sorts of futuristic in Tron-style body paint and outfits. If you are of age and you're not at work (and the wife is out of the room), feel free to visit the official page. Well, you know, it makes sense. The standard gamer demographic very likely corresponds with Playboy's demographic, so a little crossover isn't only unsurprising; it's expected. Next up is a Final Fantasy layout, where Tifa, Lightning, Rinoa, Rikku, Yuna, Aeris, Garnet, Vanille, and Terra will be featured. ...okay, I made that up.
I didn't even know the Playbunnies had names. I thought they were just really well-animated blowup dolls. ...maybe I'll just keep thinking that because I couldn't pronounce "Sasckya," anyway.

But Playboy supporting Tron doesn't surprise me in the least and these pictorials are very nice indeed.
Going to see the movie in the morning and looking forward to it!

This got me to thinking. Playboy does share the demographic with our preferred form of entertainment. I wonder if they ever considered creating a space in HOME. I know this would be difficult for Sony to implement, but it sure would be a good way to state that games have come a long way. Games are growing up. The world needs to know this.

I think I speak for the PSX community when I say 'thank you' for running this story and picture. Paper thin justification perhaps, but it's well worth it...
An early Christmas present? I think I've seen the one on the right in Home.... :D
