Atlus Opts To Maintain Online Servers For Demon's Souls
Demon's Souls is one of those experiences that greatly benefits from online servers, simply because the game blends the single-player experience with the multiplayer.
And the good news is that despite being up for over a year, Atlus has no plans to take down the online servers for the game. According to their latest press release, the publisher has extended support for Demon's Souls and will continue to maintain the online servers through its second anniversary. Said Aram Jabbari, Atlus Manager of PR and Sales:
"We've said it before and we'll say it again. We will support the online servers for Demon's Souls as long as we possibly can, and we'll be as transparent about the entire process as possible, hence us constantly updating folks as to what to expect. That said, we're starting to think...the servers may have taken on a bit of a... life of their own. Have you played the game? It's not just one of the most brilliant roleplaying games ever made; it's darn challenging, too. It's starting to feel like even if we wanted to, we couldn't shut things down. Honestly, we're more worried the servers will shut us down than the other way around."
You just have to appreciate the sense of humor. So few press releases these days have fun with the content. Anyway, in addition to the extended server time, Atlus is planning a Pure White World Tendency event, which will begin on December 20 and run through the New Year. It will "allow newcomers their best chance to ease into the treacherous, brutally addicting world of Boletaria while also offering hardcore gamers access to the many secrets and otherwise inaccessible paths unlocked by the tendency shift."
Demon's Souls fans ought to be plenty satisfied.

But then there are other really cool times when people help you out! I remember 3 people entered my world to give me a hand, then I got invaded! hehe, poor sucker had no idea he'd have to fight 4 of us!
It's definitely a great (and super difficult) experience when fully utilized!

The blue dragon was easy (providing you had an upgraded bow/white one with 600+ arrows and a few of the what's-it-called items that allow you to repair your weapon which i used after every 100 arrows or so) but not fun, nor rewarding.
So you didn't miss much.

The dragons are only good for a big increase in souls. If i remember correctly the Blue Dragon and the Red Dragon, have souls you get when you kill them (can't quite remember if you get one from the Blue one.), just use the souls and you got a good amount of souls. I don't think it's used for anything but gaining souls.

This is art, this game is art, no way around it.
Funny, after a 2 month break I went back to it this week and was thrilled again haha.

Thank you ATLUS, this game has been the best new game this gen. It has really changed my mind as to what a game could be.
@Sony, come on, MAKE these guys make Demon's Souls 2. I know they're working on Project Dark which is a spiritual sequel to it, but it's multiplatform. So stop sitting on your ass and fund From Software, they would gladly make DS2 if you FUND the damn thing. SCEA you've got the power.

The flamelurker for me was a total nightmare. Must have taken 40 attempts to kill the critter...
You spend hours upon hours getting to a boss, take a deep breath, walk through the fog... See this massive thing walk towards you, freeze and wham! You're dead!!!
Have taken a break from this one as to make any real progress takes dedication. You can't do much in 30 minutes (apart from die!).
The Black Phantom Edition is staring at me now! Taunting me... Come and get me if you think you are hard enough!
Majestic game and recommended to everyone.
