Hot Pursuit Giveaway Complete: Winner Nabs Free NFS Copy
This past weekend, we told you about a chance to win a free copy of EA's excellent racer, Need for Speed.
It was simple, really: all you had to do was keep an eye on our Twitter page and as soon as I tossed up a Tweet asking you to e-mail me, the contest was on. The first to send me a message with a brief explanation as to why they wanted the game would win. Well, I opened the floodgates late last night and within 10 minutes, 7 people had already e-mailed me...I keep forgetting the power of free stuff, especially when it comes to really cool video games. ;) But anyway, one message came in exactly one minute before a few others, and it also had the longest "why I want NFS" description. So, the winner is-
Gus S., aka BikerSaint
I'm sure you all know who he is. ;) Anyway, I'll be sending out his prize on Monday and I'm sure he'll have fun with it. For those of you who haven't yet tried Hot Pursuit, it's definitely worth the cost of admission if you like solid, super-fast arcade-type racers. Also, make sure to check out our Hadouken interview if you missed it; they're one of the bands that contributed music to the white-knuckle experience.
Stay tuned for more fun giveaways in 2011. :)

Plus I also want to give a big shout out to all my peeps here in the comment section too!
I loved the demo & was busy trying to knock my interceptor time down with my Crown Vicky, so I was mighty pissed when the time limit finally locked me out(and I never got to play as a speeder), so this will be one of my most welcome additions to my gaming enjoyment.
Man oh man, I never win anything, so you guys just don't know how determined I was at trying & win this awesome game.
I spent many sleepless hours since Saturday, with these bloodshot eyeballs peeled at my computer screen(with more than a few Visine cocktail chasers to boot) till I started seeing things in triplicate(talk about having some real 3D a-la-natural).
Anyway, you all don't know how close I was to not winning.......my lack of sleep was finally overtaking me after 6 days, and I was about to call it quits & shut my computer down, when the tweet actually popped up...and the rest is history.
And today I get a knock on my door & it's the UPS man with a small package for me. It seems I also won a prize from Gamestop's gigantic C.O.D. Black Ops sweepstakes back in November.
I only won one of the minor prizes they were giving away, a black long sleeve COD OP's T-shirt with a huge emblem with the Black beret'ed grinning skull inside it, pretty cool looking.
Anyway, that makes 2 things I finally won, & all in the same week. Soooo, since things usually happen in 3's for me, I'm off in a bit to play some $168 million lotto tickets!!!
Hey, I can dream can't I???
BTW, as soon as NFS arrives here, I'm putting a sticker on the case stating that it came from PSXEtreme along with the date, so that when I'm finally too old to game, & I'm ready to will my collection to the Smithsonian Museum, the the PSXEteme will forever have a place in gaming history too.
So since I'm known here as a man of little words(LOL), I'll just end my post with these last couple of words....
Merry Christmas(or name your observance here), and Happy Holidays to all,!!!!
(PSSST....."Good Night, Irene")!

Thanks!
Actually, I hit my "send" button about 10 seconds after the tweet popped up, but my old WindowsXP computer's been acting a little buggy lately & it decided to freeze up right after I hit the button(for what seemed like an eternity to me), before it finally went back to normal & sent my email off.
And because of that, I had told myself that I lost any chance of winning.
So I was really surprised to find out that I had still beat the 2nd place email, who ever that was, by a minute.

And I won't be updating tomorrow, of course. But it's back on for next week starting with the standard Week in Review. Oh, and a Happy Holidays greeting from PSXE later tonight. :)
