Could Guerrilla's New IP Be A Blend Of Fantasy And Shooter?
It has been pseudo-confirmed that Killzone developer Guerrilla Games is secretly working on an all-new IP.
The obvious question is- "what?" Well, if you want to believe the insinuations and implications Next Gen News evidently located within the studio's job listings, the project could be awfully intriguing... Amongst descriptions for FX Artist, Concept Artist, Senior Game Designer and Senior Coder, we find descriptive words like "legend," "Dumbledore," "wizards," "god" and "Daedalus." Okay, so it might be a reach to assume they're working on a cross between a staff 'n sword RPG and a FPS, but there does appear to be a central theme. Then again, maybe the dude who writes these job descriptions has been playing Dragon Age a lot, or he's one of those Dungeon Masters who has had the time to pump out dozens of fantastical stories. It's really impossible to make assumptions right now, but we'd certainly like to believe Guerrilla is capable of delivering something fresh and perhaps even wholly original.
You know, somewhere in the depths of our selfish, sheltered little hearts, we want the best developers in the world to stick to what we love. In the same way that we want Naughty Dog to fixate on Uncharted, we also want Guerrilla to stick to Killzone. It's the safe, secure option; we know we'll be entertained. But the freer, risk-taking part of ourselves wants the designer to spread its wings and try something new.

(Even though I do have some of the games, but for collection purposes only).
I could be wrong here & there wasn't a Daedalus in them, but I keep thinking maybe I heard "Dumbledore" from one of the Lord of the Rings movies &/or games. Which of course, LOTR's does carry that same theme of wizards, legends, gods, and so forth too.

They are capable of doing a great job, we will be expecting a lot after there masterpieces of the Killzones.
It's to earily to say much but I much rather them keep it safe like you said Ben and stick to Killzone, just like we all expect ND to stay with Uncharted, unless they want to make a new Crash then that would be awesome.
Lets keep our eyes on this, who knows it might be the next top dog for Sony.

I wouldnt mind seeing something along those lines from guerilla games. Atleast we will get a game with a solid frame rate and minus the cell shaded look. Although i must admit tge cell shaded theme worked really well for borderlands!

Activision would be forcing Guerilla to start working on KZ4 already, and then KZ5.
I hope it's an rpg, whether it is a more of Western rpg or not doesn't matter. As long as they do a great job with it all's good.
I just hope they drop the guns and go with the more fantasy design. We don't need another Fallout.

But when they finally get back to starting on Killzone 4, I'd like to see them do the whole game as the Helghast, with everything from their perspective, story wise.
I've got all my grunt's & moan's ready.

A fantasy styled game could be all sorts of awesome if done right. Though, I disagree with most of the other commenters here as I feel that an RPG would be the wrong way to go about it. Sure, the two genres in gaming are pretty much synonymous, but this could change that.
Whatever path they choose to take, I hope they fly. Sony: Supporting individual development since 1994 :P
Peace.

id like to see them do a horror game, something set in the future but instead of ghosts or zombies use standard humans.
maybe make it that theres a post apocalyptic world, and every man and his dog is out there killing for their survival.
kinda like i am alive, that game looks so freaking cool!!!!!!!!
