Naughty Dog Talks Uncharted Territory
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will probably be a pretty good game. ...see? The understatement of the year with only a few days left in said year.
The game wowed everyone - everyone - when it debuted in December; the worldwide premiere at the Spike TV Video Game Awards kicked ass, and then Naughty Dog followed that up with the first bit of gameplay. But if you still don't have your fill, the PlayStation Blog has even more info, straight from the horse's mouth, so-to-speak. Game Director Justin Richmond and Creative Director Amy Hennig answer a few questions and once again, we feel our level of anticipation rise a few more notches. Richmond says they wanted to "push their tech in an interesting new way," and also enhance Drake's environmental reactions; i.e., his animations in direct relation to his surroundings. Hennig also talks a lot about the characters and how they're working hard to make the characters even more human-like; how we'll feel even more attached to them. So what is Naughty Dog going to do between now and the time of the game's release?
Just kill themselves to get "better and better and better." ...and they've got about 10 months to do that. Scary.

Anyway, I am excited to hear they are trying to make the characters more life like because in both games the characters eyes were not right. They looked colorless and weird. If they fix that, put in a better story, and a strong or unique final boss battle this game will no doubt go down as the greatest game ever made in my opinion. Don't even mention the sick badass multiplayer. They don't need to even change a whole lot with that. Maybe some new weapons or bigger map. That's it.

Although it would be neat to see Chloe become an advisary. Her and Drake are in the same line of business...who's to say that she isn't shooting at Drake this time around because she's going for the same prize? She switched sides a couple times in UC2...

And this is a problem that I have had with almost every game - even the amazing Heavy Rain had some dead eyes here and there.
I think the only ones to have nailed this aspect of graphics so far have been GOW3 and FFXIII.

Take the Movie "Ocean's 11" The first one was a smart witty film with some good actors. The second and third turned into a celebrity fan fest with no plot or storyline.
Or the Wheel of time book series. The first six books were amazing..I kept reading up to 11 I think but books 7-11 just dragged on because all the characters were spread out and all Jordan was doing was explaining what each character was doing and describing how see through their clothes were..(You have to read the series to get that one...)
Myself I'm more of a George RR Martin style of writing...just kill em all and start again...lol.
I see where you're coming from with wanting Chloe back for the next one, but while I was playing UC2, I had a feeling as though Chloe wasn't a staple in the series...she was more like a Bond girl...some eye candy that's only around for one episode at a time...Elena is more essential to the series (Like Moneypenny)...
but we've both got our own opinions...lol

They would be foolish to leave Elena out of this one after that ending in UC2. I just hope her cameraman gets a better deal this time.
The greatest exclusive of all time and we have nearly a year to wait. Anybody else notice how games keep copying Uncharted now? Except they kind of drop the ball when they make all the handholds shiny.
Good thing there are tons of great games between now and then so people don't drown in saliva.
Finally, I still can't decide between Chloe's ass and Madison's ass. Help me.

I get it, I get it, I like uncharted as well, but it won 't get released until the 4th quarter of next year. E3 hasn't come yet, and they haven't shown anything new since the VGA's. Video game awards, if you didn't know.
And you still talk about it over and over. just saying.

I'll just say goodbye to getting my own room in the city my study is in... I'd rather have enough dough to get all the great games and live at home where I don't have to pay for food, electricity, etc. than live on my own and play like a quarter of all the awesomeness of next year anyways.

i just hope they fix up the controls, and make the sound as impressive as the graphics!
the controls are so frustrating, lost count how many times i have died because i pressed circle to roll but instead took cover in front of a enemy.
little common sense please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
the sound was really crappy too, the gunfire sounded really fake and soft especially in comparison to KZ2 or BFBC2.
even the explosions, hell if i play BFBC2 downstairs with my 7.1 surround sound setup when tanks fire or even when the satellite lands the whole house shakes!
but when drake sets off those bombs to bring down the shack it honestly sounds like my dog just farted!
does not sound like a explosion at all, sounds more like a popping balloon.

they need to work on the stealth kills too.
allot of the time id be taking cover behind a crate, the enemy would be sitting on said crate with back turned to me.
so i press forward and hit square and drake stands up and punches thin air.
than i get killed because they saw me.
they really need to work on the sound effects too.
allot of the guns dont sound like guns they sound so flat and really lacking power.
dunno if anyone heres fired a desert eagle or a AK47 or a M4 but they sound NOTHING like they do in the game!
a gunshot is F*CKING LOUD! but if i turn my 7.1 speakers up to 100% and fire a gun it sounds like someone just popped a balloon!
even the explosions dont sound that crash hot, when drake blows up that bunker in the jungle level it sounded so flat.
they need to take some cues from DICE, the guns from BFBC2 sound so realistic its freaking amazing!
than they need to take a cue from RDR.
i was really impressed with the sound effects, not the gun shot or explosions themselves but the way they echo.
fire a gun in a open space like that it echos, wheres the echo in uncharted 2?
thats one department ND really need to work on, they got almost everything perfected but sound design is still stuck in the PS2 department!
there really the only 3 gripes i had with uncharted 2, o well that and the graphics.
yea there all nice and pretty but wheres the color?
everything looks so drab and dreary!
i want the bright lush jungles from the original back!
