Sony has really stepped it up over the past few years. because to be honest, i was pretty disappointed with my purchase in 2006. there were was no software that caught my interest. and not only that most of the multi-platform were inferior on the PS3. now, there's honestly so many great games that i haven't even had a chance to play them all.

"Move, Home, Blu-Ray, free Network, reliability, price tag...it's all nice, but above all else, we care about the games"

i couldn't have said it better myself. because really all of those said above are perks that you get when buying a PS3. games are what actually sell the PS3, especially the exclusives. i've always been the type of having quality over quantity. but now, the quantity of the quality games that the PS3 has is substantial, and the ones to come.

Yes I agreed. Back then, every multi-platform game, PS3 version gets the crappier side of the deal. It's either PS3 gets a piss-poor port, or 1-year exclusive deals with Xbox which resulted in more piss-poor ports on the PS3. Even great games like Resistance does not stand out much compared with the huge arsenal of FPS library.

It's not until Uncharted 2 that released, that blew everything out of proportion. That is when I finally feel proud of being a PS3 owner. For once I'm excited over the release of a sequel.

I bought a 60gb for $600 in Jan 2007 since thats when they finally came back in stock after the initial release. There was honestly no game I wanted. I wasn't into shooters at all and had no desire to play one. But it came down to me getting Resistance: Fall Of Man. Wow! It was amazing. It was the first FPS I ever played online. Actually it was 2nd (I'm pretty sure anyway) FPS I ever played other than Goldeneye on N64. To this day I still haven't beat the single player but I could not pull myself away from the online. That by itself made the $600 price tag worth it. And Once I hooked it up to an HDTV...wow again! It has always been an amazing console in my eyes!

Well, i think out of all of us here, I paid the most. Reason for that is I was probably the second or third person in Singapore to have one 2 days after it was released in Japan.

I got one of the first PS3's, made in Japan with all the bells and whistles.

She is beautiful. I have upgraded her to 750GB hard drive now... but don't use her that often, I keep it in the lounge and play it when I am there, otherwise my second PS3 in my room, the 40 gigger, (which has been upgraded with 250gb drive), is played more often....

Anyway, by now I am sure you are all wondering what I paid for the privilege of a Japanese PS3 - 6 months before it was "officially" available in Singapore... wait for it... drum roll... waaaiiittt for it... more drums... symbol... and $1,200...

Yip she cost me that much. My second eBay PS3 cost me $180 USD - massive difference...

But hey, to have it up and running in my apartment months before they were available in Europe, USA and Singapore... it was quite a rush, and the envy of everyone who saw it...

Its the only mad thing I have done. I don't drink, smoke, nor go out that often... so honestly, to spend a grand on PS3 (over a life time)... does not work out to a huge amount.

Just think of people spend going out on the weekends... do that a few times... in NYC, and you got yourself a PS3... so no regrets... but what fun to be one of the very few people in the world to have one on release :)

Just put a WD AV-25 500GB (WD5000BUDT) drive in mine. Best HDD I think you can get. Home is like it got accelerated. The drive has a 32MB cache, and that helps massively.

check on the box, hahaha. check newegg for drives, they have them cheap. the highest ps3 compatible drive i saw there was a 640 or 680 for under 70 bucks.

anyway, i paid about $1000 bucks for my 60 gigs because it only came in a bundle at frys. i had a choice of 2 accessories plus 4 or 5 games i think. i felt uneasy when i was paying but after i took it home and played it i didnt regret it. i got a western digital 500gb drive too but it was a scorpio blue. found it for less than $50.

I'm hardcore. I took Ken Kutargi's suggestion to heart. The one where he said people would be willing to get a second job to buy a PS3. Well, I did =)
I wasn't in school at the time and I was working full-time. I picked up another job for a few month working part-time at a shoe store to pay for one and boost income a little. I got Motorstorm and VF5 with it.

The PS3 does have the strongest line this gen (Wii is close). This was the major factor when I chose the PS3 back in '07 when the PS3 "only" had Resistance, Uncharted, Heavenly Sword, War Hawk, and a bright horizon on the future.

The sad part is that some of my friends still doubt my decision and enjoy the bliss of ignorance. However I have converted some, most recently a friend how never played any games before and who is currently enjoying a borrowed copy of Uncharted 2.

I can only hope that the stream of exclusives continue to grow and continue to lead the future and evolution gaming.

I have to admit that I sorta like the Wii's collection once you get past the awful shovel ware and mediocre games, leaving about very, very small amount of games that are good(this discounts all Mario games.).
This is probably because I had only a SNES till I finally got a PS2 in '03, even though all I played on it was Legend of Zelda, Donkey Kong Country and Final Fantasy.

The Wii may have some quality titles. But to me, quality alone isn't enough to warrant my time. I have to be engaged in the content as well. So many of Nintendo's quality games are presented with themes that target younger audiences. And even then, while Metroid appeals to me, content-wise, it's really hard to get passed how archaic everything looks. In this era when many people now use HDTV's, SD games look worse on bigger screen HDTV's.

I'm not even the biggest graphics junkie in the world, but my GOD Wii games just look terrible these days. I can't get past it (and yes, I have the component cables. They help, but not nearly enough.) 360 games look fantastic, PS3 games are just jaw-dropping continue to look better every six months or so. I just can't handle Wii's graphics anymore. A shame really, because I know Miyamoto and Co. are some of the best gameplay designers in the biz...

I just had a 360 and the game first, plus there kinda is. It has none of the downloadable add-ons like the wizard's tower, the castle, horse armor, vile lair and so on. I actually had the GOTY PS3 version and I turned it right back in once I found that out. I also found it to lock up more often than the 360 version, but I guess that was because it was a frequent problem with many games in the PS3's infancy.

Well, now we know why Sony decided not to pay for 3rd party exclusives; they knew their 1st party lineup was going to be absolutely the best of the best. If they added and in house JRPG developer I'd shat myself.

Unfortunately it has been an uphill battle against the many xbots who work at the websites, magazines, and TV shows who have a personal grudge against the PS3. And even when they can't ignore something like Uncharted 2, the ignorant just pretend they aren't interested and continue saying that PS3 has no games. (Yeah I still hear it, read it)

Some of my favorite games this gen are multiplat, but it IS hard to look at them and go "What if this was exclusive? It could have been even better."

2011 Sony is going to slaughter everything but maybe Gears 3 and Zelda. I hope PSN goes into the black this year, they deserve to make some money even if the gaming is free.

Professor Layton is the kind of game that the DS was made for. I'd hate to see Level 5 make sony-exclusive games. Prof Layton is one of the best series of this portable generation.

I would love to see a Rouge Galaxy 2 though. It gets overlooked too much, imo.

One thing I would actually stand up to applaud is if Sony bought some of these companies like Level 5 and basically told them that as long as they met their first party commitments, they are free to continue to make games for other platforms, though it would of course be nice if some of them made it to a Sony Platform too.

It does indeed have the best games. No real gamer should go without owning a PS3. Though you can go without owning an Xbox if Halo and Gears isn't your MO. Looking forward to 2011. It will indeed be the best gaming year in a very along time. All the PS3 exclusives and The Legend of Zelda Skyward Sword have be salivating.

For me, I believed 2010 was the best year of PS3, until everything was delayed to 2011. FF13, God of War 3, and GT5 were the three biggest games of PS2 generation jumping onto the next console.

i cant wait for skyward sword but i'm not going to pay for it. i'll get my sister to buy it since its her system. I'm not going to buy a game for a system i dont own. i bought infinite undiscovery, my brother sold his 360. fortunately i finished it. i bought super mario galaxy, my brother sold his wii WITH MY GAME IN THE SYSTEM. i havent finished it and now i cant get it back because he doesnt care if i get it back.

Sony was always ahead of the competition. The PS3 is not just a device. It is a Strategy. Sonys plan is now coming to fruition. The PS3 was way ahead of its time when it was introduced and this realization has now hit the masses. Excellent Exclusives and a Legendary Library. 2011 will only continue this tradition.

It definitely is a different story from 07 where exclusives were bombing (Lair, Heavenly Sword) & games were going multiplatform (Devil May Cry 4, Assassins Creed, Virtua Fighter 5). I had a hard time justifying my purchase when it first released because truth be told there was just nothing there going for it worth that launch price. Blu Ray player Lite wasn't going to be enough with one or two decent exclusives imo.

So without sounding too much like a fanboy zealot i personally have to say PS3 is the leading console for exclusives now, no doubts about it but i still love the 360 equally as much for the Gears, ME's, Halo's & online service.

2011 i feel is going to be heavily PS3 dominated with SONY focusing on the exclusives where as MS are raping everything with the sh!tty kinect gimmick which is a big turn off for me personally.

In my books the xbox only has the Mass Effect series. With it now on PS3, what's left? A terrible third person shooter with cumbersome controls, a retarded Molyneux rpg and yet another basic shooter set in outer space.

You can write article after article of why the PS3's library is a gamers haven. I'm right there with you.

I assume that refers to Gears? Well, as I recall, cumbersome controls is the largest complaint against Killzone 2 as well. I've played both and I like them both - they offer totally different experiences, and I actually like the controls of both. I've played Black Ops as well (I've traditionally shied away from CoD and it's ilk specifically because of the twitchy controls) and it was as I expected - too twitchy and chaotic. I like the KZ and the Gears forumlas much better. Good thing there's plenty of each type for all of us, eh?

Gears is an excellent series - may not be your cup of tea - that's okay. But I think by any objective measure - it IS an excellent game.

Think about it like this, the PS3 exclusives are very diverse, just as gamers are so people have more to choose from. On 360 you have 2 franchises to choose from so yeah those exclusives are gonna get more sales because there aren't many of them.

Still, shame on anybody who doesn't have Uncharted 2 or Heavy Rain by now.

Plus the mediocrity that usually pervades most Xbox games tends to go over better with the masses. Just look at the kind of people who think Halo and Gears are all gamer should care about. Most of ones I know have terrible taste is all walks of life. Not just games.

I disagree the best place to get a laugh is definitely IGN commentators hands down. You see so many people saying things like "Oh I wish exclusives would go away they aren't that important why do fanboys get so up in arms about exclusives" or "Since Mass Effect series has gone Multi-Plat we should get the Uncharted games or Infamous games" or "We don't need GOWIII we have Dante's Inferno".

While I do agree with the fact that PS3 has the best exclusives, I must wonder; Why the fanboy wars? Each console has thier respective advantages and disadvantages. Why the need to put down the other? People who own a Honda don't verbally abuse Toyotas do they?
I mean, the PS3 does have more features that make me lean towards it, but by the same token, someone may lean towards the XBox.
Sure you can compare them and see which one is better, but is there any need to hurl insults. Of course i'm no accusing this site or anyone who posts here, I'm just thinking out loud.

I don't know about Hondas and whatnot but Chevy and Ford fans do not get along nicely. As a Vikings fan I strongly dislike the Packers. That's just how ya roll. A lot of us Sony loyals felt disenfranchised when the 360 rolled up, fell apart at the seams, and was still embraced by the masses while the PS3 was hammered by just about everyone.

I'll probably rent Gears 3 to play it through and be done with it (like Gears2).
I plan on getting ME3, though, for x360.
Outside of that, MS has really let their platform dry up. I just don't understand what they're thinking. I guess there's Forza 4, but I really doubt it can match GT5 to make it worth my time.
Maybe MS is secretly prepping up games for a follow up console, or something.

I do agree, the PS3 has the best exclusive line up, and that is indeed the main difference maker now, although the BluRay support and PS2 compatibility, plus wireless Ethernet and 60GB hard disc were plus points too when I purchased.

But, back to the software, the ports and multi-plats are getting better and near parity in most respects. So there is no advantage there for 360, like there was 2-3 years ago.

Next year should be interesting, if past history is a guide, 2011/2012 will mark the peak for game development quality and quantity on the PS3. After that, devs will begin shifting gears for the next console. 360 devs do not, I think, know where to look. For them this year and 2011 should be that phase in the lifecycle, but they have nothing on the horizon yet, and Microsoft is still pushing the 360 hard with kinect.

Interesting times...

You guys know I'm no 360 hater, but oh my LORD has IGN jumped the shark. I used to check out that site half a dozen times a day. I go over there now and I don't even recognize the place. They still have some talent, for sure, but just the whole operating structure of IGN is FUBAR. The review scores are waaaaaay too padded, they cater to the most immature and moronic portions of video game readers, etc. Do the industry and yourself a favor and don't humor those assholes anymore...

How the hell do you pick a console that basically had like only 2 or 3 good exclusives while everything else was multi-Plat over a console that has most of the same game they mention in that article plus more exclusive title which were all good. Not yet. But if not by the end of next year, we should all cry because the masses just aresn't getting it. Both systems have their strong points, but I really don't understand how 360 fanboys can hold Halo, Gears and Live as the pinnacle of gaming, and superior to anything and everything that the PS3 has to offer.

I think that early sales were primarily the result of people wanting a cheap Blu-Ray player, but now that it is the standard, the audience is growing for the exclusive line-up. And the rest of us are gearing up for the onslaught of 2011. Speaking of which, less than eight hours until we're there.

I think they are. When I was out doing my Holiday shopping, people were having trouble getting their hands on stand alone Move devices while the Kinects where stacked high and as far as the eye could see. Most stores had plenty of PS3's and even more 360's. I think people are slowly coming around.

not exclusives, but the quality of exclusives.
its one thing to have as many exclusives as they do, but completley pointless if there all as good as HAZE!
the 360 has just as good exclusives as the ps3, but the problem being there too few and far between.
the 360 had the better this year with alan wake and ME2, G4s GOTY WOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
but as for next year, and the future, well i dunno.
but than that has always been the case, sony have said oooooo look at us were so big we got this, this, this, this, this and that coming next year.
than 9 times out of 10 they end up being delayed, than another half of the time they end up sucking ALA GOW3, resistance 2, HAZE, LAIR ect ect.
where M$ on the other hand keep there cards close to their chest and when the time comes they whip them out.
which is a much better way to do it because if theres a delay you have ample time to work with it, unike sony and its games....... cough GT5, cough KZ2......
when it comes down to it you cant predict these things because if i had a cent for every time sony promised something and did not deliver, well id be rich enough to buy the big 3 50 times over!
so you cant predict these things, you dont know if sony will keep their promise, you dont know if it will be as good as they lead it up to be, you dont know what M$ is going to bring to the table.
you just have to wait and see.
the only thing you can do is reflect on the year, like what were doing now look back at the year and make judgment.
i wont be surprised if im left feeling the same this time next year.
hopefully im not, sony sure have a sh*t load of games releasing next year but the obvious question is how many will actually release next year, and how many will actually live up to sonys insane levels of hype?
sony really need to stop touting everything up like the second coming, its really hurting them!

I stopped reading when you wrote that R2 and GoW3 suck. The 360 does have high quality exclusives, and I can understand people saying that it had the better year, with the two that you mention, Halo and Limbo, against the seemingly bare PS3 line-up.

As for next year and the future, there's nothing to hem and haw about. Sony has it down. I'd rather wait, know about the game and be rewarded with high quality, than not know about it, have a small amount of hype and think it the greatest thing since the invention of the wheel as the result of lowered, or less expectation. That's just me though.

man, i think its about time you gave up your gamer card. i usually check your posts for some laughs but this one was just plain idiotic. i know everyone is entitled to their own opinions but this one, i cant even give a pass. God of war isnt my type of game at all. however, i did buy and play the collection and 3. Those games were great. i dont know what the hell game you played. Resistance 2 was amazing as well. they did went backwards like with the weapon wheel but an amazing game. i spent a lot of time on those games. Haze was a disappointment but definitely as bad as most people depict it to be. one of those games that had a good concept but poor execution.

360 has good exclusive but the problem is that they're too few and far in between IS THE ARGUEMENT. Sony can match the amount of 360s exclusives and then some, and then a lot more.

360 had a better year and your games are alan wake and mass effect 2. hell, i'll even give you halo reach. but as my wallet can testify, i was bombarded with games in the beginning of the year. so far, the exclusives i picked up and loved are sly collection, MAG, Heavy rain, God of war 3( but i will admit, not my game genre), white knight chronicles, modnation racers, 3d dot game heroes, demons souls, playstation move bundle, and gran turismo 5.

microsoft keeping their cards to their chest, well because they're ashamed of what sony is putting out. all they have as cards is halo, gears, fable(i'll give you that too), and kinect(not that appealing). microsoft is like the small chested girl afraid to wear a swimsuit because her friend has big knockers.

From what i remember, they only gave one official release date for GT5 and they delayed it once because of piracy. Sony exclusives, at least first party and most third party, are always top quality.

correct me if i'm wrong, but wasnt odst basically a rushed product and most fans were disappointed with it. an expansion that was sold off as a new game.

Its funny that you mentioned meeting sony's insane insane levels of hype. I havent really seen sony hyping up any of their games. its basically the opposite, not enough advertising. With sony's games this gen, the hype comes from the gamers that actually played the game. Where the hell were you when reach and black ops released. Microsoft hyped the hell out of that game. if you missed it then you must be hiding under a rock that is hiding under another rock.

In reply to the nameless lad. He does have a point. On paper, the amount of exclusives for PS3 due out in 2011 is saliva dripping worthy,no ifs or buts about it. Realistically though, i too wouldn't be completely surprised if a good handful of them are delayed just for the sake of SONY not throwing out all it's big fish in one hit, instead spacing out the releases abit. And seriously although the chances are low, how do we know all of these games are going to be successful? We don't! So in a way it's all just assumption, but yeah the odds are looking good for sure. Also, noone knows what MS have in store apart from Gears 3 & Forza 4. So keep the celebration banners, clown hats & confetti until 2011 has time to shed it's skin.

2010 has been a good year for both 360 & PS3 though imo. God of War III, Heavy Rain, Mass Effect 2 & Halo Reach were tops whereas Splinter Cell Conviction, MAG, Alan Wake & White Knights Chronicle died in the ass due to hype.

And on a side note, anyone thinking 360 ONLY has Halo, Gears & Mass Effect is delusional & most probably, brainwashed. Look outside the box for a change. Dead or Alive 4, the original Dead Rising (Not the sh!t Wii edition), the Left 4 Dead's,Fable II & III, & Lost Odyssey just to name a few were good exclusives & prove that the 360 is more than just a few mainstream shooters, not to mention all the good multiplatform games that both console fans get to enjoy.

Little bitchy rant aside; 2011 is looking like a fine year for all gamers, no matter what platform your a slave too ;)

I honestly enjoyed Left 4 Dead 1 and 2 on the system its geared for, a gaming rig. Seriously Valve games are meant for pc, we shall see how the new Portal 2 works out on ps3 since Gabe said it would benefit from the openness of the ps3.

Also, why do people always claim "MS holds their cards close to their chest"? The last time a card held close to their chest really shocked people was the announcement of FF13 being multiplatform. Name me one recent mind blowing game they announced that we didn't know was coming that made you wish " Damn, i should rush out and grab a 360 right now"

Blank, if your gonna keep citing Haze as your go to failed exclusive ( which wasn't even developed by a 1st party dev anyways ) then its only fair for us to keep spouting out games like Too Human, Crackdown 2, APB ( microsoft windows ). Remember how great those turned out?

In B-Spec you just have to find the right car for the right races and max them out. Once your car is more powerful than the others, your B-Spec driving skills will matter little until you get to the harder races.

win the mazda furai and that bspec driver will own. although they only get smart after they reach level 5. i had to take a break from gt5 for now because i have 4 currently unopened games i need to play before littlebigplanet 2 and killzone 3. sly cooper collection, enslaved, assassins creed brotherhood, and star ocean. i also have to play black ops online again because it glitched and i lost all my cod points.

Anyway, when i started playing gt5, my ps3 was on pretty much the whole damn day. when i wasnt playing gt5, i left it on b spec and just let him race. you get the furai by beating bspec race called nr roadster i think. That car is a beast to use even in A spec and all you need is a tuned up mazda roadster. you wont need a different car till you need a zonda r or the bugatti veyron. my other car is the gtr 09 skyline. i forgot my first car is called but its the one i got for getting silvers in license mode. its the 4wd with blue windows and white/silver body. i forgot to mention that when i do b spec, i just leave the controller alone and he beats races with at most lapping a few cars.

all i needed was the that license car with blue windows, then furai, and now the zonda r. i rarely used my gtr 09 skyline and lambo.

Been playing quite a lot of 360 as of late and won't have my ps3 back until February. So ive had a lot of time to play some games on 360 that ive wanted to try out ( due to a modded 360. its my friend's, don't judge lol )

This includes Alan Wake, Mass Effect 1 (havent gotten to it yet but i will) Halo Reach, Gears series, Fable, SplinterCell Conviction, and countless multiplats that i just didn't have time for earlier in the year.

Always been a big fan of the Gears series, so i knew id enjoy playing thru it fully again. I was really looking forward to Alan Wake, i was expecting a great story and great graphics since it was deemed by some 360 fanboys as a title that would show what the system was capable of. What i got was something less than my expectations unfortunately. The script seems a bit stale imo. Also, maybe its just me but Gears 2 still looks better to me than Alan Wake does. The gameplay itself gets a bit repetitive.

Id probably like Conviction much more if it felt like a Splintercell game. Its not bad, but its not what i've come to expect from the franchise. Still worth a try though.

Though i still have a bit of catching up to do, to me it seems that if you already own a ps3, there really is little to no reason to go out and buy a 360 in order to feel like a complete gamer. There isn't many exclusives imo thats worth plunking down the money for it. For me, the only other main exclusive i wanted is coming to ps3 and thats ME2.

Unless you are an extreme fan of the Halo series or Gears series, what does the system offer thats not on ps3? Now if you already own one, cool beans. But if you really need another system to go with your ps3, id suggest a handheld, souped up gaming rig, or even a wii at this point.

Not to crap on Alan Wake any further but for the "graphical beast" it was supposed to be it was in development for a veeery long time and its resolution is well below 720p.

Funny how people didn't crap all over Alan Wake for it's long development cycle yet when GT5 came out, you couldn't read a single review outside PSX that didn't rip the game to shreds for not "being better" considering its long development cycle.

I will say the game ism't horrible, its very playable but gameplay wise it suffers from a been there, done that vibe. im only little bit less than half way thru it though, maybe after its all said and done i'll like it more. perhaps the story will grip me, not sure about that though.

People everywhere indeed have started to notice. In fact i was just reading an article over at IGN that one of there xbox editors was switching to the ps3 this year as his console of choice, mainly because Sony has an a** ton of exclusives coming out and not jist exclusives but some damn good ones too. Now i normally dont care to speak about ign or many other sites but since what you pointed out in this article, is exactly his reasoning for switching consoles i figured its a good point taken.

He still sounds like a typical ign editor in favor of te xbox saying halo is better than other fps on PS3 and that forza is better than GT5 ( in what aspect he didnt clarify), but all in all he pointed out all the flaws the 360 has that are obvious and all the upsides the PS3 has that make it the better console. Especially as far as software goes, and the software going into 2011.

Anyways i guess it really doesnt matter, but again it kind of proves a point that more people are starting to take notice. And that althoigh the PS3 has hot that turning point, 2011 seems to be the year that the PS3 stamps its place as the console for the most diverse selection of games. People will continue to notice throughout the year and people will realise what they want can be had only on the PS3.

Yeah i agree. I really really like the original halo, and it is one of the better fps ive played. But that franchise has gone downhill since luckily for them reach fixed a few things and added some stuff. But bungie knows its the end, thats why they are done with it. Itll still sell but it wont be the same. But with that said KZ2 as a whole is a better game. With a little more emphasis on story id could say it with more confidence. But KZ3 should seal it completely.

As for forza and gt5 well, hes obviously got a screw loose. Forza is a good little racer. But thats all it is. Its not close to simulation like GT5 portrays. I know they say forza is a simulator but im sorry the cars feel like they are floating on the pavement. Thats all i got on that haha.

Halo: Reach was pretty damn great, I gotta say :) Really raised the bar for the franchise in terms of story, character development, production values. Even had some nice (and way overdue) gameplay tweaks, as lord knows the original control scheme had gotten stale in the last few years. Very interested to see how KZ3 ups the bar for that series -- I really feel like the franchise is on the cusp of something very special, here's hoping they pull it together...

Yes, Telly, Halo: Reach was fantastic. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I was highly skeptical before playing it through. Even the first level didn't quite have me sold that this game was the real deal. But by the game's end, there was no doubt in my mind that Reach was the best thing to happen to Halo since the series began.
There really is no other FPS that attempts to tackle and do as many things as Halo does. It has more weapons, abilities, motorized craft and gameplay options than any other FPS, or similarly competing, title I know. It also helps that Reach has some exceptional lighting and great texturing making it one of the, if not thee, best looking x360 games to date.

But likewise, I think KZ3 is shaping up very nicely and is looking to have what it takes to hold it's own very well against it's competition. While KZ skews a bit more realistic-sim(no shields and cover is mandatory) than all out sci-fi, like Halo, the production and attention to quality and detail looks to be a standard setter for the respective angle KZ is taking on the genre. I've also seen some cutscene dialogue and acting... it's looks to be way improved over KZ2.. I think this game may be a real goty candidate 2011.

As the hours count down on 2010 I'd like to reflect that there have been a lot of fights, attacks, and ego assaults on this sight amongst users over the past year and most of them have been VERY ENTERTAINING! At the same time there have been some highly intelligent engages and an excellent display of technical and gaming knowledge that has kept me coming to this sight everday just to see whats going on.

The quality and amount of information and news put forth on this sight in the past year has been outstanding.

Lastly, hats off to Mr. Shepard and Mr. Dutka for the amount of effort,love and intriguing commentary they have put into the site. Its appreciated, Great job guys. Happy New Year!

A more recent debate that stood out in mind as one of this years best was between Jawknee and Highlander on the topic of Keiji Inafune and his sudden departure from Capcom. The debate escalated to what was seemingly anger and yelling, closing abruptly with each of them leaving the room saying "GOOD DAY SIR!!"

I would say PS3 signal handed has been doing amazing, I bought a PS3 not cause of games but quality I knew it would last longer than any console (besides the Wii do they even count) anywase over the years I have enjoyed a crap load of games especially exclusives not just disc based but PSN ones, playing Death spank it's fun.
@jawknee when does the new Zelda come out, i'm playing Epic mickey (damn good game)

and I also agree with whoever said Professor layton is the best game on the NDS damn right. it belongs on it. (sorry I couldn't find the comment who said it)

There is no date yet but Nintendo has promised a 2011 release. I hopes in spring but given Nintendo's track record it will likely be released in time for the holidays. Zelda always felt like a Christmas title to me.

Feel like I'm repeating myself here, the tide really turned during the Christmas season of 2007 when "Uncharted: Drake's fortune" and "Heavenly Sword" dropped and since then the PS3 exclusive line up have always beat the 360 line up..

And it's nice to see third party companies putting some more effort in the PS3 version with EA giving out special editions or extra bonus for the PS3 versions of games i.e Medal of Honor and "Dead Space 2" or Valve proclaiming the PS3 version of "Portal 2" will be the king of all the other version.

What should drive Xbots (online forums and in the media looking at G4) crazy is that the one game that could possible challenge "Uncharted 3" for game of the year is no longer a Xbox 360 exclusive. How many of you guys go into it with your xbot buddy when you brought up how bad ass "Uncharted 3" looks and he says well we got "Mass Effect 3"?

With the exclusives and third party studios making sure there's little to no difference between the PS3 and 360 versions there is no reason to get a 360. Especially now when "Halo" is a done story and "Gears of War" is coming to a close what is the next great 360 only franchise is there?

i think so it was only a matter of time to me the ps3 will overtake the ps2 simply because they ps3 does everything the next xbox or wii 2 will do... its just built for the future, but look at the fight xbox has made out of it... all they have pretty much is halo,gears,fable,forza pretty much... and with those games, questionable hardware, charge for online, yet they are still hanging around shows you just how addicting live can be with all the cross-game chat, never take for granted having people to play with building ur friends list being able to talk/or text whenever you want is huge
