LittleBigPlanet 2 Wows Critics
We all knew Media Molecule's second effort would be bigger - and hopefully better - than the original. But would the critics laud it for taking progressive steps or would they say it's just a big 'ol expansion pack?
Well, it seems no reviewer is willing to say the latter, as it makes zero sense. Thus far, the critical reception for LittleBigPlanet 2 is through the roof: after about a dozen reviews from relatively major sites, it's averaging about 94% (depending on your sources). This includes a 9.5 from Game Informer, a 9.4 from CVG, a 9.1 from 1Up, a 9.0 from Eurogamer and IGN, a 5 out of 5 from GamePro, and another perfect score from Joystiq. The lowest tallied score is an 8.5 and you can probably expect a whole lot more 9+ scores in the near future. Many analysts and publishers always say it's absolutely crucial to have a game that scores extremely high if they want big-time sales figures, and so far, it seems Sackboy's follow-up is primed for a huge debut. It may only be a PlayStation 3 exclusive - thereby automatically limiting potential sales - but many remember the unparalleled brilliance of the original, and can't wait to sample the sequel.
So, do you plan on rewarding Media Molecule for a job well done? Are you gonna dive into the new, immersive world of "Create, Play, Share?"

I just read IGN review.
The guy basically says "I can't be arsed to get into the create tools, but yeah they're cool." Seeing the potential is one thing, but that doesn't mean you can give a review on it. Mind you I played his level from LBP1 and it was god-awful, not to be rude but it was.
I just find it wrong that someone passes judgement on a game's creation tools when they haven't even given it half a chance. To be fair he said it himself it doesn't deserve to be on the servers, but that doesn't cut it IMO, & after the in-depth review's of Ben & Arnold who can take more than atleast a few weeks before publishing a review, make him look like he's in the wrong job. OKAY DONE.
BTW the first LBP was 9.7

EDIT: "BTW the first LBP was 9.7"
Well then, that makes their 9.0 for LBP2 even stranger.

But if you ever played his level, you'd understand what I mean. It's like he didn't understand basic game mechanics, E.G checkpoints..& the fact that 100 speech bubbles in a level simply isnt fun, even though it was intresting to hear his life story. Also, he doesn't mention the Little bits that make a Big difference (:D) like how microchips can be used, & how significant the change in the format of logic, or if the LBP1 levels worked at all (he doesn't mention but I recall my level breaking in the beta). See what I'm saying? Maybe I'm just the type of guy who needs 10 pages of writing to justify a review I dunno :P

And off-topic: OPM has given Mass Effect 2 a 10/10 rating. So it appears the PS3 version hasn't been gimped at all so far. Good news for those that are waiting for it. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

but the demo was so boring.
one thing i absolutely loathe about gaming journalists is there all hypocrites!
they mark bad games down for being repetitive, but than leave good games alone for being repetitive.
why does harry potter get marked down for being repetitive and GOW3 does not?
why does JC2 get marked down for being repetitive but LBP2 does not.
in the demo you start doing something than thats all you do for that whole level!
if thats not repetitive than nothing is!
watching the G4 review of the latest harry potter game there main complaint is you only get one set of enemies to fight in the game.
sound familiar?
i swear to god game journalists are the worlds biggest hypocrites!
they mark one game down for something, than act like it does not matter for another.
sorry guys, but whats good for the goose is good for the gander!

strike one.
You say a game is repetitive simply because it has similar gameplay, yet you ignore the infinite amounts of additions that allow you to not just have variations on what's already established, but completely new experiences and control. Based on what I've read of LBP2, this game is anything but a repetition. In fact, it's the definition of what a sequel SHOULD be.
Strike 2.
You just compared Harry Potter to GOW3...
Strike 3.
You're out, dude. FAR out.

What's so great about LBP is that it can cater to everyone, and it has infinite replay value. And you don't HAVE to create a level or anything to enjoy. I myself didn't do anything with the create tools but I had a lot of fun playing levels other people created. And the quality of good levels made just increases as time goes by. And you could pop it in and play anytime you want. And who can resist Sackboy/girl?
LBP2 is gonna be sweet.
