Early Deadly Descents Info Doesn't Impress The Fans
Although we've waited quite some time for the return of the critically acclaimed SSX franchise, some long-time fans are none too happy with the perceived new direction.
And now, with more details leaking out thanks to an EGM unveiling (as noted at GameZone), the fans might be even more perturbed. If we've forgotten, we're talking about a series that was all about straight-up arcade-style action. There was never anything remotely realistic about it, and that's exactly what we enjoyed. But it seems EA wishes to instill some authenticity into Deadly Descents: there will be 17 regions with 70 randomly generated mountains to attack, but that's not the terrible part. It seems players will have to take notice of the conditions - thin air, extra ice, etc. - and compensate by packing differently. That's right, packing. As for possible returning characters, Elise has only been confirmed thus far and overall, the fans are starting to question EA's new direction. For our part, we have to see a bit of gameplay and get more details before coming to a conclusion; the packing/preparation part might be very minor.
But we just did a piece on franchises that strayed, and we sincerely hope we won't have to add SSX: Deadly Descents to the list...

Their are so many series I want too return/remake, Jet moto, MGS 1 and 2(remake), and Crash along with NFS Underground.
New IPs are good but we cant forget about the ones that brought us into gaming, come on give us some remakes at least, Return are faves!

Now we'll get to play Snowboarding Duty: Deadly Descent
First time I saw the trailer I seriously thought it was some war game... Extremely disappointed.
Why are they rebooting a franchise that doesn't need a reboot?
Devil May Cry doesn't need a reboot, Final Fantasy doesn't need a reboot, Meal Gear Solid doesn't need a reboot (that new Raiden crap game -_- )
Seriously, these companies are either blind or dumb, or both.
Who the hell is advising these companies?
Now I'll have to "pack" before I got snowboarding?
LAME, this game will fail, mark my words.
The only thing that could save this game is the charismatic characters. Hopefully they bring back some of the best ones. Nate was my favorite male character while Zoe and Kaori were my favorite female characters.
That's like the only thing which could give this game some character/life.

What happened to colour? What happened to insane fireworks at most jumps? What happened, EA? Not all gamers want their games to look like Call of Duty!!!! Call of Duty should look like Call of Duty, SSX had its own style and now it's gone!!!
If I wanted to play Call of Duty, I'd play that. I am sick of this generation trying to copy one game's image, it won't work! It never does! Only reason these games sell is brand name alone, look at Final Fantasy XIII, Splinter Cell, I'm sure there's more but all have stepped backwards trying to copy CoD, and I for one am sick of it.
Catherine looks to be a breath of fresh air though. Here's hoping it gets an English translation.

This looks nothing like the arcade style everybody is use too, but Im fine with that. Deadly descents is looking really interesting. I have no problem with being more realistic and if it was up to me, all games would be.
Im always finding my self not using certain features in games because their not realistic, I already know that I will not use the new mode in Driver that allows you too pause the game after you crash, roam the city from the sky looking for any car and then continue the chase. I will not be doing that, If you crash your done or just have to catch back up.
Hey, I love my realism. I guess the guys who are in this crowd are the same people who don't like GT5 because its too realistic for them.
Im looking forward to a lot more info this year.

And as a 1st timer at 58, I'll either wind up shredding the slopes, or breaking every last frigging bone in my little ole virtual body.
I do fear that it will be much of the latter though.....

Also, is this going to multiplatform? Wasn't the original SSX a PS2 exclusive? Ah well.
Still sounds like there's gonna be a lot of tracks and some exploring too. That's always a plus in my books. Focus on the positive, thats what I gotta do!!
