Sports Illustrated, Sony Team Up To Deliver 3D Beauties
For the record, yes, I went out of my way to find a Maria Sharapova swimsuit spread. So sue me.
It has been announced that Sports Illustrated and Sony Network Entertainment have teamed up to bring 3D beauties into your living room in high definition. They're calling it a "cutting-edge transactional licensing agreement" initially based on the 2011 SI Swimsuit issue. Basically, it delivers a 3D Swimsuit video to the PSN and PS3, as well as Sony's 3D-compatible and network-enabled 2010 and 2011 Bravia HDTVs and 2011 Blu-Ray players (the latter thanks to Qriocity). Said Mark Ford, President of the Sports Illustrated Group:
"Just when you think the bar couldn't get any higher for the Swimsuit franchise, we've raised it once again with our partners at Sony. Swimsuit in 3D has extraordinary potential and we're thrilled to deliver its millions of fans a new perspective through the exciting world of 3D video."
In addition to the 3D stuff, there will be around 12 hours of Swimsuit video available, complete with behind-the-scenes "making of" videos. PS3 users will also have access to "Dynamic PS3 Themes" based on shoots from the '90s, 2006, 2009 and 2010. "We strive to deliver unique content to our users, and are delighted to offer this first-of-its-kind high definition 3D Swimsuit video," said Tim Schaaff, President of Sony Network Entertainment.
Well, you know...another good reason to be a PS3 owner.

As someone who's extremely fortunate in that his wife is so broad minded that she ensures that each year's SI swimsuit issue arrives in the mail, I can only hope that when we get a 3D TV here, we will of course make the move to the new technology...

Some one at Sony HQ is going to get truly smacked up... World will be particularly annoyed, as Castlevania becomes the fist non-jailbreak victim... sigh... I think the PS4 must truly be on its way :)

Other than that, Sony's staying tight-lipped on whatever plans they might have.
I'm certainly hope there's a way Sony can wreck their plans for good.

i love my TV!
im just disappointed in the ps3s 3D effects after being use to what the PC delivers.
its like going from a 5 star hotel to a motel 6!
not only in visuals, but in effects too.
you go from 1080P 60FPS to normally sub HD since most games are normally 720P and 30FPS.
not to mention no ps3 game has things popping out of the screen like PC games have.
i do like the occasional wrath unleash though, its great for keeping the skin bright, wrinkle free and colorful!
helps prevent balding and fading hair color too.
