Get Some Cosmetic Surgery In Test Drive Unlimited 2
Customization is a big part of any sports or racing game, but it usually doesn't involve personal avatar customization.
Then again, few - if any - racers put the rich, lavish lifestyle in the limelight the way Test Drive Unlimited 2 will. This may appeal to those who want a blend of The Sims and driving the fastest, hottest cars on earth; the information comes from a new press release and trailer. Both were sort of mocked over at Jalopnik, and we're interested to hear your reaction. Here's the video...yes, you can purchase clothes:
Now, here are the details from the press release:
"Your avatar is your personalized representative in the world of Test Drive Unlimited 2. Whether you're shopping in a car dealership, getting ready to race, or another player out at a red light, your avatar will show off your style, attitude and accomplishments in-game. There are many ways to customize your avatar's look, including clothing, haircuts, and cosmetic surgery.
At the Cosmetic Clinic, you can modify all aspects of your avatar's face, including shape and size of your eyes, ears, nose and mouth, skin color, shape of head and facial bone structure and more. Tired of your current look? Check out the Hairdresser for a new cut, tint, eyebrow pluck, shape, and more. Visit clothing shops to pick up the outfits and accessories to make your driver stand out, every clothing shop carries its own line of clothes. You won't know until you go shopping exactly what you'll find at a particular store."
Yep, there's cosmetic surgery. Well, it certainly fits the atmosphere, doesn't it? The question is, will this social element act as an intriguing complement to a robust racing game, or will the racing take a back seat...? We're hoping it's the former scenario.

Personally, I like having the huge amount of customization in a video game, it allows for you to be your own character and be special compared to the rest of the drivers out in the world.

It's sounding more like a car MMO than anything which is extremely interesting imo.
I love the earlier Test Drive games and how it's all about racing through cities and stuff.
I'll see if I can get this.
Cosmetic surgery? I just want to create my character, why would I need cosmetic surgery? lol

And who knows, it might wind up fun for an hour or two, just trying to act the Richie Rich spoiled-me-me-me f*cktard dip-sh*ts with money to blow up their noses, while lying to their mirrors, that they're the King Sh*t.
After all, they'll probably need a good plastic surgeon anyway, just to repair all of their now worn out 1-holed nostrils.

Ever played Tourist Trophy? if not, then the game not only allowed you to customzied the hight of your character, but you actually got to choose what kind of riding gear the avatar wore e.g. jackets, leathers, helmet, gloves and boots. In fact I was so glad that PD managed to get the racing gear and helmet of Colin Edwards, Valentino Rossi and the late Daijiro Kato into the game.

GT5 is taking care all my racing/driving needs. It's awesome, it gives you everything you need and more.
I loved Test Drive(1) on the PS2, it was one of the first games I played on it. This is a totally different game. I'll pass on this.
GT5 is all you need, plus with all the updates PD/Kaz will be giving us, GT5 will even get better, wait is that possible? I'm waiting for the next update, but for now I'm back to enjoying everything GT5 has to offer.

I don't see why it's even that important to customize your avatar in a racing game. I appreciated being able to pick the color of my race suit in GT5, but that's about all I'd want to customize anyway. It sounds like this game is style over substance.
