James Cameron Loves The 3D Tech Found In Crysis 2
Few studios are more confident about their project. We've seen a whole lot of positive talk from Crytek before...and we're assuming they can back it up.
Crysis 2 will boast stereoscopic 3D and last year, Crytek boss Cevat Yerli said he hoped gamers would associate Crysis 2 with 3D gaming. He's gone even further in more recent comments to Edge, saying the upcoming sequel would be a "super high-end 3D experience on all formats." Thing is, it seems the team is well versed in the new technology; they've been working with it for several years now. One previous project was "developed exclusively in stereoscopic 3D" and that happened over two years ago. Added Yerli:
"So we've done a lot of research into 3D experiences, the UI and whatnot. And a lot of this knowledge is now in the Crysis 2 3D experience. That's why we have, in my opinion, a benchmark 3D implementation.
I'll even claim it's the same as Avatar's status in 3D. James Cameron has seen Crysis 2, and he loved what he saw because his eyes are trained for 3D more than anyone else's, and that makes me confident that we have a super-high-end 3D experience on all formats."
Wow, we didn't know Cameron had gone eyes-on with the game. And if Crysis 2 is anything like "Avatar" in terms of impressive 3D visuals, it really could be a benchmark 3D experience for the gaming industry. On the other hand, we sort of have to see it before we believe it, and we know that Crytek and Yerli like to boast a bit.

The 3d aspect is great and all, but I'm one of the average, un3d, consumers. While this may change the field of play for a few, the bulk of us want to hear great things about normal play and perhaps a bit more about what to expect Performance wise amd graphically for the ps3.

Yes, it was an PC issue, but if they can't get the game to run properly on the PC, I wouldn't want to leap out and give them too much credit with the PS3. Given the nature and outcome of graphical achievements on the PS3, I just can't shake off history and play dumb about that tidbit. After S-E managed to ruin my favorite titles of all time, I'm too torn to just shrug off the fact that this game can, indeed, be very.. VERY blown out of proportion.

if you did your research you would know you dont need 1.4 HDMI for 3D.
the ps3 does not HDMI 1.4 and it works decently.
my PC and monitor dont use HDMI im using a DVI port and its giving me better 3D effects than anything on the ps3!
especially lost planet 2, take the best 3D game on the ps3, make it 5000 times better and your still not even close what LP2 can give you on a decent PC and monitor!
full HD too none of that sub HD BS we have to put up with on the ps3.

Look, I love the confidence that Crytek has. It really gives me hope when thinking of the quality that they must have, but on the other hand, the constant boasts are really starting to grate me. Why can't they do like most devs: shut up and let the game speak for itself. By all means advertise, but don'y make it out to be the second coming. It will only disappoint. Want proof? It's a little game called Gran Turismo 5.
Peace.

this, LA Noire, RAGE, human revolution or DNF will be getting GOTY this year!
buying a new 3D monitor has been the best decision i have ever made!
playing mafia 2, batman AA, lost planet 2, almost every PC game out there in 3D has been beautiful!
gives you much better effects than what gaming consoles do, and considering a 3D TV costs upwards of 3K where a 3D PC monitor can be had for 400 bucks a great deal too!
im glad i got a new TV because my old one had terrible picture quality, but as far as 3D is concerned its been nothing but a massive disappointment!
disappointed me so much i thought it was not working properly and had a friend of mine whos a TV technician come and check my TV to make sure everythings working fine.
was working perfectly, he told me hes not very happy with his LX900 either which is quite discussing considering it cost him 7 freaking grand!!!!!!!!!

i really wanted to get a panasonic NEO plasma, but the smallest they make is a 50 inch which is too big for me.
plus plasmas have really bad burn in, i like to leave my games on pause while i go for lunch, dinner, coffee whatever.
if i was to do that it would wreck my tv, sure i could just switch it over to TV when im gone but knowing me ill forget and screw my tv up so its not worth the risk.
