Two Worlds II Royal Edition Hits US On February 4

For a while there, things were looking pretty dicey, and we weren't even sure the game would release in North America.

But the reported issues are behind both publisher and developer, and Two Worlds II will arrive in the US this week, with the Royal Edition launching on on February 4. The game has proven popular in Europe, selling over 1.5 million copies already, and North American gamers may respond in kind. You can pre-order one of those limited edition sets right now; there will only be 5,000 total units available in the NA region so if you're interested, you had best act fast. The special package includes:

  • Bonus DVD (With music tracks, concept art, wallpapers, making-of documentary)
  • Double-Sided poster with World map of Antaloor
  • Special Edition Dragon Queen statuette
  • Unlockable in-game weapons and armor
  • Exclusive art book
  • Two Worlds II Limited Edition Collectables
  • Deck of Two Worlds II Playing Cards

We've been hearing good things about this sequel, and we're especially impressed by the fact that most sources say TWII is much, much better than the original. The first title, by the way, didn't go over too well with the critics, and it seems the developers took all that criticism to heart. In short, we're hoping for a top-quality role-playing experience from TopWare.

This game looks interesting.... hopefully by "better" they don't mean dumbed down and more accessible... it was just revealed the NG3 is going to be made "more accessible" for the casual crowd. This ninja no like such news =(

Actually "better" in this case seems to actually mean better. There is a comparison video out there floating around that shows all of the upgrading that has gone into this game and the developer made a video making fun of just how bad the first game was.

Overall, this sequel looks like it is going to be very good and the gameplay looks to be engaging and in-depth

I thought this was supposed to release tomorrow. Amazon and gamestop are saying you can get it by tomorrow, or is the regular edition available tomorrow and for some reason the royal edition comes out a week later?

Weird, everything that I have read states that it comes out tomorrow as well, though admittedly I can't find anything about the Royal Edition so it might come out later.

Dude In in the same boat... I havnt even finished dragon age yet. Almost done though. But none the less I got some friends that wanna play two worlds two with me. So I'm getting it. It also looks really good. So that's a huge plus. Sounds like for now it'll be my elder scrolls fix.

The first one was so terrible that it won't take much for its sequel to be better. That being said, everything I've seen and read shows this entry in the series as being vastly superior. After being burned on the first one I'm hesitant to get it on release day but I'll definitely keep my eye on it.

Same thing happened to me with Mistwalker's Last Story... I was like "Ok, so from the creators of Final Fantasy comes..... Last Story?, what next? Ultimate Fable? Finishing Legend?" It gave me a good laugh....

As soon as I pull some money together I will be picking this up. It just seems like it could be as fun as Oblivion for me, I just hope the magic system is actually useful and not just tacked on.
