PlayStation Shows Off At The Sundance Film Festival

PlayStation is a brand that continues to grow, and it always helps when it shows up in different venues.

Sony has arrived at the Sundance Film Festival, which lets the Hollywood who's who check out the latest electronic technology at the PlayStation Green Room at Silver. Sundance is the premiere showcase for independent films and in the Green Room, attendees can check out all sorts of hot upcoming software like Killzone 3, inFamous 2 and MLB 11: The Show. Those who stopped by have included Terrence Howard, Susan Sarandon, Jeremy Piven, Rob Lowe, and others, and if you check the link above, you'll see "Grey's Anatomy" star Jesse Williams playing KZ3 with PlayStation Move and that nifty rifle attachment. Ten years from now, these same people might just be attending a video game awards show that's just as big as the Oscars...who knows? It's great to see PlayStation catering to a wider and wider audience and hey, if they're actually playing Sucker Punch's inFamous 2 over there, we're all kinds of jealous.

The celebs are lovin' the games. And there's absolutely nothing wrong with that.

Sony Pictures also signed a deal during Sundance to distribute a film I worked called 'The Greatest Movie Ever Sold' (directed by Morgan Spurlock of 'Supersize Me' fame). The whole film is paid for by product placement and its really funny, it should be in theaters around April so check it out if you get a chance.

As a production assistant, mainly helping the camera operator, getting personal releases, lugging gear... a lowly vocation but its still fun to be involved in a cool project. Better than some of the reality shows I work.

I would've headed straight for inFamous 2, if I were in attendance. I saw a Subway sandwich commercial that said you could win infamous 2 before you could buy it. I didn't hear all the details because it caught me by surprise and that's the only part I paid attention to.

I'm afraid this might be a waste of money. It's just a bunch of nobodies and has-beens. That's money better spent on advertising to gamers. Those folks either already are gamers or don't ever wanna be gamers.

I hope Mubi got some love there, kindof more important than games at a film festival to be honest. I realise it isn't actually available in America on the ps3 but Sundance is an internationally festival.

Pretty cool stuff

Sony's big, they've got so many divisions (movies, music, etc.) so this is great exposure for Playstation in general.

Though the brand is already super popular since ps1. But it's great to showcase the ps3 and its THE console of this generation.

The only console that is still advancing.
