Test Four Fighters In Yakuza 4 Demo

The latest Yakuza entry will hit store shelves on March 15, but if you want to sample before buying, a demo is headed your way, too.

Sega has announced that a demo for Yakuza 4 will arrive on the PlayStation Network on February 22. If you're a PlayStation Plus member, you can get your knuckles dirty on the mean streets of Kamurocho a week earlier (February 15). You'll be able to test out all four of the game's playable characters, which is great, because each boasts his own unique fighting style. When the game launched in Japan, it received plenty of critical acclaim and although Kazuma Kiryu is a confirmed bad-ass, it's great to have different characters.

Oh, and then there are the hostesses...

It's one of the most under-appreciated franchises on the PlayStation 3; no matter how many critics recommend a Yakuza title, it never seems to rake in big sales. Well, the heavy Japanese influence is a cultural barrier, we suppose, although the themes and concepts in these storylines are definitely universal.

I'm thinking about attempting to get into the Yakuza series, so I'll definitely check out the demo. Why did they take away hostesses in Yak3?

Yeah Yakuza 4 demo has only the fighting,if you want to experience the full game buy the full game. This is only a little taste.
Trust me dude play the Yakuza Series and especially play this game because the story is as good as Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2.and buy the HD collection if they release anytime.

They probably removed the hostess bars from 3 because of the cultural attitude towards self image of the Japanese. Officially they stated that they didn't feel it would mesh well with cultures outside of Japan but there were rumblings that they did it because it is kind of like the dirty little secret. Also, if you travel to Japan and you're white there are some hostess bars that you simply can't go into. Good to see that at least the developers of this one are sucking it up and adding it in.

I'm tired of people complaining about the things cut from yakuza 3.These people didn't even know about the yakuza series, haven't even played yakuza 2.

Yakuza 2 had everything, hostess clubs, mahjong, shogi, bowling, golf course, batting cages, new city-osaka better story than yakuza 3,did u guys know u yourself can be a host.managing host clubs,In my opinion special moves in Yakuza 2 look much cooler in Yakuza 2 than Yakuza 3.
Yakuza 3 is just yakuza 2 with added fighting moves. The graphics are awesome for a ps2 game like GOW2.Only the camera is changed when running on the streets,if u change the camera and put it behind kiryu kazuma, yakuza 2 will become yakuza 3.
I really hope they release a HD collection Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2 with Yakuza 1 having Japanese voices.
Kiryu Kazuma's face and Hair Style looked much more badass in Yakuza 1 and Yakuza 2.

Kiryu,

The gaming community now loves to complain first, play second. Pretty sad sometimes. I'm so excited for this game. Much respect to Sega AND the PS3 owners who supported such a great game without the need for heaps of hype.

Yeah the gaming community especially US complains a lot.The Yakuza series is the most underrated series in gaming history. But it's better than Final Fantasy,It's better than Grand Theft Auto and their clones.
Yakuza Series is a Genre by Itself.

Maybe some people, like myself complained about the things cut from Yakuza 3 because it was all present in Yakuza 2. And the reasoning they gave for removing it was bull. Because it wouldn't fit well into other cultures? Please.

So, before you go off about people complaining that things were missing from 3 maybe take a second to realise there is a following of these games and that that could be the reason for the complaints.

Then again I could be wrong and everyone one that ever complained about could have absolutely no point of reference to the series. Just my opinion though

This hostess trailer might ensure that this game rakes in bigger sales than you think if you get my drift.

Demos are the single most important things for games these days.

Trust me, if I hadn't played some demos (Blade Kitten) for example I wouldn't have bought the game.

Demos are what upset reviews, false/erroneous reviews.

I loveeee Yakuza 3, I'm on my 11th play through and still having a blast....Best RPG this Gen? Only thing that sucks is, I can't get 1800 in the Ex Hard batting cage.

I never played Yakuza 1 or 2. Yakuza 3 is the first time I ever heard of the series and the only reason I picked it up because it looked and played like Shenmue on Dreamcast (favorite Dreamcast game hands down)

Definitely dl'ing the demo and coppin the game...just wish Mine haven't died in Y3, so he could take Kazuma spot and be the hero in series :(

Please grab a ps2 now and play Yakuza 2, and
Yakuza 1 in japanese.
Because it has every thing yakuza 3 offers and more with a more epic story.
Graphics are awesome for a ps2 game like GOW2.

This game's production is limited because of the funding. I see so much potentials in this game. Now if only they have 100 million dollars to invest in this game like GTA, it could easily surpass it.
