New Call Of Juarez In The Works?
Update: Ubisoft has officially announced Call of Juarez: The Cartel, which is being developed by Techland (Bound in Blood creator) and will be available this summer for next-gen consoles and PC. We can look forward to a "new and modern setting."
Original Story:
Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood really wasn't a bad game at all, and we believe shooter fans would welcome another entry in the series.
And although nothing is official just yet, a reader has informed us that Ubisoft has registered a new domain, entitled Call-Of-Juarez-The-Cartel, which obviously indicates an upcoming installment in the moderately well-received franchise. Until Red Dead Redemption wowed the world, Call of Juarez was the only decent Western-themed fun a fan could have, and it worked out well for a while. There was never anything too impressive or too polished about those titles, but the last effort - Bound in Blood - didn't sport any major hitches or glitches, and for the most part, was fun to play. And besides, these are straight-up shooters so the gameplay is quite different from Rockstar's RDR; the two names could appeal to different groups of people. At any rate, a new Call of Juarez doesn't sound like a bad idea; maybe the developers can iron out a few kinks and turn it into a top-quality FPS. Cross your fingers.
We're just trying to be optimistic, you know? Just please fix the dueling system. It has so much promise...

Ubisoft’s Caroline Stevens said: “Call of Juarez The Cartel is an action-packed shooter game with a strong story, interesting characters and a wide variety of gameplay options.
“The game will bring the best elements of the Wild West into modern times with a very gritty and relevant plot.”
