Guerrilla: "We Are Not Suspending Killzone 2 Servers"
Last week, we were alerted to the possibility that Guerrilla Games may have halted support for Killzone 2's online multiplayer.
Users around the Internet were suddenly complaining about frozen rankings and leaderboards that hadn't been updated, and some assumed that with Killzone 3 right around the corner, Guerrilla may have simply decided to ditch KZ2. This sort of annoyed a few people, especially because the developer never warned anyone that support for KZ2 online would suddenly disappear. Well, they didn't tell anyone because it isn't happening; Guerrilla producer Seb Downie contacted us with the following information-
"To be clear, we are not planning on suspending any servers for Killzone 2 and are actively looking into why users are experiencing this problem and will correct it as soon as possible.
We noticed the complaints regarding the Leaderboard issues being reported by the community late last week and have been trying to reproduce and correct this issue ever since.
I hope this answers your concerns and we will ensure that the community is aware that we will resolve this issue soon."
So there you go; just a technical problem of some kind. Guerrilla has no plans to discontinue support of KZ2 just because KZ3 drops next week, and that's good news for all the multiplayer aficionados out there. Remember, you'll see our review soon...

I feel sorry for all those young twitch turks, just because there's no "Jumping the shark" trophies awarded for that, not even a Bronze one.
And there never will be.

And I don't think we were specting the worst, it was just bad timing. If this glich had happened before I think we would have assumed there was a server problem, but no, it had to happend just days before the KZ3 launch. Just what speculation needed to run rampant.
And if yout think about it, it did look suspicious. What a coincidence.
