Ubisoft Reveals Dance On Broadway For PlayStation 3
It debuted on the Wii and now it's coming to the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Move.
Today, Ubisoft has announced Dance on Broadway for the PS3. As of March 17, you can perform alongside the best Broadway has to offer in your own living room; using Move, you can try 25 songs and original choreographies from over 20 of the most popular shows, from the classics to modern productions. From "Fame" to "Hairspray" to "Annie Get Your Gun," many of the most recognizable shows are here, and it's great fun - and exercise - for players of all ages. For the record, you only need one Move controller per player, although "advanced players" do have the option of using two. Party Mode is for a "quick play experience" but if you want the full, immersive experience, try to help save the Little Triumph Theatre from ruin in Become a Star Mode. Here are some of the featured tracks:
- Time Warp (Rocky Horror Show)
- You Can't Stop the Beat (Hairspray)
- Fame (Fame - The Musical)
- Ease on Down the Road (The Wiz)
- There's No Business Like Show Business (Annie Get your Gun)
- Out Tonight (RENT)
- Little Shop of Horrors Theme (Little Shop of Horrors)
- Let the Sunshine In (Hair)

I'll admit, I picked up a Move. The wife and kids love it, and admittedly I've had some good fun playing the sports champions games with friends and family. But lets be honest, it's really just a glorified Wii. The principle is the same: You have a wand, the system tracks it's movement, and you build a game around that. I think that makes it very easy for games built on this premise to be made for both Wii and PS Move.
I'm not saying games designed specifically for PS Move could ever work on the Wii, Move is far superior technology and is capable of so much more. But I expect we'll start seeing more and more games designed for both Wii and PS Move because they can play using the same game mechanics.

I admit I do find that dancing is a good form of potentially fun excercise, depending on where and with whom. I happen to like a wide variety of music as well as, a range of musicals, but mostly the following: R&B, Rock, Metal, Punk, Alternative, Dance, Pop and sub-genres of said types as well as doses of Country and Classical. My sis, her husband and kids play Just Dance 1 & 2, it's cute to see them really get into it and it's a bit of exercise for them (as well as me the occasional time I join in). I guess what I'm mostly saying is it may not appeal to everyone, but there is a market like there was and somewhat is for instrumental playing and/or singing/karaoke games. I hope though the market doesn't get flooded with too many dance games (especially poorly made ones or good ones with very little support from the makers/publishers). Although I may be in the minority here, Dance Central does hold a degree of appeal to me. I'll likely never get it though seeing as I do not have the requisite Xbox, nor do I have a Wii for any Just Dance games which don't interest me as much at the moment anyway. I thought I've read Singstar Dance is quite disappointing and not very technically sound.
Underdog15 that's cool that you like them and that you've even been in some. Which ones? Les Miserables is the only production I've been a part of (quite a locally acclaimed high school production I may add) and it was one of the most fun and happiest times I could remember. I was part of the chorus, but still, it's really quite the team effort. This was amidst a very rocky time between my parents and they seperated months afterwards. Perhaps that's why I enjoyed it even more, it was like an escape too.

Can we get a Super Mario Galaxy port instead? That game is badass, although I have yet to touch #2. (obviously I know we wont get mario on the PS3, just wishful thinking)
