Brotherhood Gets The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC
It's one of our favorite games and if you're a fan, you'll want to pick up any available downloadable content.
Today, Ubisoft announced The Da Vinci Disappearance add-on for the 2010 award-winner, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. This piece of DLC will be available on the PlayStation Network for $9.99 and on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points, and it'll launch next month. It'll feature both single-player and multiplayer content and the new story is as follows:
"After the fall of the Borgias in Rome, Leonardo Da Vinci is kidnapped by the Hermeticists, an underground cult dedicated to transforming mankind. Ezio will embark on a relentless quest to recover stolen paintings in order to find Leo before it is too late, discovering two new locations and two new gameplay features along the way."
The multiplayer addition is the "biggest yet;" we get one new map, four new characters and two new game modes. The new map, Alhambra, is set in Spain's Albaicin of Granada and "provides multi-leveled indoor and outdoor areas perfect for predators to lurk in the dense crowd for unsuspecting targets."
The four new characters are the Dama Rossa, the Knight, the Marquis, and the Pariah, and the two new modes are Escort and Assassinate. Escort has two teams of four players competing to protect a VIP target or assassinate the other team's VIP. In Assassinate, "six to eight players are pitted against each other deathmatch-style in one ten-minute round."
If you haven't tried Brotherhood online, you're missing out on a refreshing non-shooter experience.

Absolutely! That's what I've been saying! Ben, you should call up all my friends and tell them that for me. ;)
As for the DLC, this is something I will be getting instead of the new Black Ops maps. $15 for 5 maps? Or $10 for a new map, 4 characters, 2 new modes, and a new single player experience. And yeah... both could have been included on the original disk, I suppose, but the latter is the better deal, for sure.

I both love and hate the multiplayer. It's fair, but cheap at the same time.

Look up a video on youtube. There are a couple good ones showing you how to do it step by step. And it's very easy. You don't have to take your system apart or anything like that. It's literally just the HDD panel you see on the side.
The other thing you need to do is have an external HDD borrowed from someone else or maybe you already have an external for your PC or something. (If you have a laptop, you may even be able to back it up onto your PC!)
The reason for the external is so you can back-up your current HDD, so when you put in the new HDD, you haven't lost a single thing. Just more space!
I know it sounds tricky when I say it, but it's really not when you look up some vids on youtube. All you need to do is back it up, then switch it out for the new one!
You can get 500GB 2.5 inch HDD's for under $50 if you look around!
I have an original 60GB system that now houses a 500GB HDD.

Anyways, when I did it, all my saves transfered as well, so you should be safe if you use the Backup HDD utility on your XMB. I don't know if there are exceptions to this, but I personally had no lost data.
Oh yeah!!! FYI, sync your trophies prior to the backup! You might lose some recently earned trophies if you don't!

speaking of single player dlc, i'm really looking forward to the dlc for castlevannia; los. it's been postponed, but that game was awesome. loved the enviroments, and vistas. way more than a simple gow clone.

nice to see a game getting some SP DLC.
not enough games get supports after release, devs are constantly complaining that their games get traded in after a week this is the perfect way to combat that!
they better release it for the PC verion though.
hate it when developers make PC fans wait 6+ months longer for the game then not release any of the DLC for it!
cough burnout paradise...........
