Brotherhood Gets The Da Vinci Disappearance DLC

It's one of our favorite games and if you're a fan, you'll want to pick up any available downloadable content.

Today, Ubisoft announced The Da Vinci Disappearance add-on for the 2010 award-winner, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood. This piece of DLC will be available on the PlayStation Network for $9.99 and on Xbox Live for 800 Microsoft Points, and it'll launch next month. It'll feature both single-player and multiplayer content and the new story is as follows:

"After the fall of the Borgias in Rome, Leonardo Da Vinci is kidnapped by the Hermeticists, an underground cult dedicated to transforming mankind. Ezio will embark on a relentless quest to recover stolen paintings in order to find Leo before it is too late, discovering two new locations and two new gameplay features along the way."

The multiplayer addition is the "biggest yet;" we get one new map, four new characters and two new game modes. The new map, Alhambra, is set in Spain's Albaicin of Granada and "provides multi-leveled indoor and outdoor areas perfect for predators to lurk in the dense crowd for unsuspecting targets."

The four new characters are the Dama Rossa, the Knight, the Marquis, and the Pariah, and the two new modes are Escort and Assassinate. Escort has two teams of four players competing to protect a VIP target or assassinate the other team's VIP. In Assassinate, "six to eight players are pitted against each other deathmatch-style in one ten-minute round."

If you haven't tried Brotherhood online, you're missing out on a refreshing non-shooter experience.

Now that's what I call DLC. But what'd I tell you about waiting for an Ultimate Edition?

Absolutely! That's what I've been saying! Ben, you should call up all my friends and tell them that for me. ;)

As for the DLC, this is something I will be getting instead of the new Black Ops maps. $15 for 5 maps? Or $10 for a new map, 4 characters, 2 new modes, and a new single player experience. And yeah... both could have been included on the original disk, I suppose, but the latter is the better deal, for sure.

I actually just beat this game last week and am now playing two worlds 2. But this piece of dlc is more than enough for me to go back to the brotherhood.

And I'm gonna have to get my gal to play some online with me before we get our place and don't have internet. But yeah, looks like I gotta halt two worlds 2 next month when this comes out. I'm stoked. Thanks for the info ben !

I love the AC series, but I can never replay them b/c for some reason they have low replay value in my book. With that said, DLC is aways welcome because it's new and I just the love AC's gameplay and story. ACB was the best by far and in my opinion better than RDR, maybe GOWIII, and a notch under ME2 for me (games for 2010). I will definitely go pick this up now I just have to reinstall this freakin game to my harddrive...the harddrive GT5 is raping at the moment...lol

I both love and hate the multiplayer. It's fair, but cheap at the same time.

You should upgrade your HDD. It's relatively cheap and very easy to do.

It's pretty simple when you see how it's done. First, you need to make sure you have the right physical size HDD. (I believe it takes a 2.5 inch HDD, but double check to make sure I'm correct)

Look up a video on youtube. There are a couple good ones showing you how to do it step by step. And it's very easy. You don't have to take your system apart or anything like that. It's literally just the HDD panel you see on the side.

The other thing you need to do is have an external HDD borrowed from someone else or maybe you already have an external for your PC or something. (If you have a laptop, you may even be able to back it up onto your PC!)

The reason for the external is so you can back-up your current HDD, so when you put in the new HDD, you haven't lost a single thing. Just more space!

I know it sounds tricky when I say it, but it's really not when you look up some vids on youtube. All you need to do is back it up, then switch it out for the new one!

You can get 500GB 2.5 inch HDD's for under $50 if you look around!

I have an original 60GB system that now houses a 500GB HDD.

But I can't get copyrighted data like Demons Souls or KZ3, but hey I will try this. I already have everything except the new HDD so I'm good. I have actually taken my HDD 2 times already after my system crashed twice...twice because the damn thing was full. Then I learned how to manually get my system to brank new condition from youtube and ever since then...I've been trying to keep my HDD vacant. LAMO...Took me two crashes to realize...40GB doesn't hold anything. 500GB is alot...why buy new PS3 when this solution is perfect.

I think your protected saves will transfer too. Because you're backing up the ID of the PS3 with it and everything, it's an identical copy of your HDD. You can't transfer parts of the data to another PS3. You'd have to copy the whole thing.

Anyways, when I did it, all my saves transfered as well, so you should be safe if you use the Backup HDD utility on your XMB. I don't know if there are exceptions to this, but I personally had no lost data.

Oh yeah!!! FYI, sync your trophies prior to the backup! You might lose some recently earned trophies if you don't!

Oh no WorldEnds, you got to give it more than that. There's sandworms man! And you take them out like you did in SotC.

The boss battles are a nice throwback. We just don't get many like that anymore.

we difinitely don't get enough single player dlc, so that's always a plus. this is how dlc should be handled more often...i don't like it when the dlc is announced before the game even comes out, and releases a week after the game comes out. that's just an atrtificial way of jacking up the price of the game, and probably holding content out of the full game.

speaking of single player dlc, i'm really looking forward to the dlc for castlevannia; los. it's been postponed, but that game was awesome. loved the enviroments, and vistas. way more than a simple gow clone.

I have yet to get AC: Brotherhood, but i have noticed a lot of the DLC is free! which is rather generous in comparison to other developers, i have 2 or 3 Brotherhood DLC packs on my PS3 and i don't even own the game.

sweet!
nice to see a game getting some SP DLC.
not enough games get supports after release, devs are constantly complaining that their games get traded in after a week this is the perfect way to combat that!
they better release it for the PC verion though.
hate it when developers make PC fans wait 6+ months longer for the game then not release any of the DLC for it!
cough burnout paradise...........
