Guerrilla Outlines Updates, Fixes For Killzone 3
Guerrilla isn't one of those developers that takes a vacation the instant their game is out the door.
Changes and improvements will be coming "shortly after" the title releases on February 22, and they're all listed over at the game's official site. Furthermore, they've outlined the updates that are coming, and that includes "support for color-blind players" and the toning down of "overly enthusiastic death screams." Here's just a sampling of all the fixes that are headed our way:
- A fix to the "Your Faction Has Won/Lost" issue, along with all oddities that resulted from this occurring
- An issue that allowed more than two clans to join a clan match will be fixed
- Increased Accuracy, Bullet Damage and Faster Reload Ribbons will update correctly on personal statistics screens
- We've simplified the process to invite players into your game (just one button press)
- The radius of the Marksman's Scramble++ has been lowered
- Medic's Revive distance increased and cooldown to re-use is decreased
- No collision on mortally wounded player bodies
- Increased player stamina
- An icon will be shown in the menu when you have a Killzone 3 message in your inbox
- Support for color-blind players
- Implement unranked custom games for players to create private or clan matches
That's just a taste; these guys clearly want to produce the single most stable and entertaining shooter experience possible. Don't forget that Guerrilla also clarified the Killzone 2 server issue; they won't be ditching those multiplayer servers just because the new title is here. In general, I don't think we can cast too many aspersions on the way this studio does business.

Don't get me wrong, I'll be getting KZ3 when it launches, I love the series and I like that they acknowledge that there is a problem and are fixing it, but to hear that a company has already prepared some updates for an "A" grade game before it even hits the shelves? Really?
I know that these updates are to improve the gameplay. Look at what they've done for games like MAG and Socom..But isn't anyone else getting tired of buying their new game, putting it into their console and then waiting while they download a new update before they can play it?
But it's to be expected I guess...I had to do the same thing with my PS3 when I bought it...why should the games be any different?

How many times have we gotten a game on release date that was practically broken and had to wait a few weeks for an update just so we could play it. I'll take release day update any day. I'd rather wait a few minutes for a great experience than get in quick only to be disappointed.

I have contacted several devs about issues in their games only to be told they know about the problem, but aren't going to do anything about it. Way to have pride in your game.
I say good work to GG and keep it up, this is how it should be done.

And now you're highlighting "Think"? You're just grasping at straws now.
I don't buy that "I have a life excuse". You didn't respond to my posts in their entirety to begin with, and made multiple posts since I posted which clearly indicates "time" was not a factor. You were able to post other places, no?
Additionally, it's incredibly juvenile to make a case against someone in terms of "you have a life". I'm quite certain most of us here have lives, and good ones. I for one have a couple degrees, I volunteer, I have a great career in counseling youth and alleviating homelessness, I own a house, I am married, I own a car, I have great relationships with my family and friends, and couldn't be more secure and happy with my life.
The difference is, my reading comprehension is a fair bit better, so responding like this takes me all of 1 or 2 minutes.
You are still avoiding my larger posts on other threads. Did I own you too badly?

I didn't mind the collision with mortally wounded teammates. I mean it made it seem realistic to me. I had no problems going around or just jumping over them if they're in a tight space.
More stamina? Really? It was fine how it was.

Sure updates can get annoying but really... I'd rather have updates then to have a permanently broken game. As Jawk said. Games are alot more complicated to make now. Games with multiplayer, i would think, would be much harder. Sure you can run it through QA a bunch of times but you'll never know until you have a million people online playing the game at once to see what's really going on.
