Kevin Butler Doubles Up On Killzone 3

Killzone 3 needs more than one Kevin Butler ad.

Yeah, we'll go with that. The first is below, and shows off some great gameplay along with the standard dry Butler description. "Yeah, fish in a barrel." We're wondering how often it'll air but we do know that such a commercial is enough to turn heads. Come on, that action is amazing!

The second commercial focuses on KZ3's PlayStation Move compatibility. It also highlights that official rifle attachment for the Move controller, which is supposed to be the very best way to "Move" in KZ3. We've heard it works really well if you can get the settings right, although we know plenty of shooter fans remain skeptical.

Most FPS followers don't need the commercials; they know Killzone 3 is a must-play title. You'll be seeing our review this weekend, by the way, with something a little extra... Not going to tell you what it is just yet, but feel free to call it added KZ3 commentary that goes along with the review.

I played the beta with and without the move /nav controllers...gotta say its a hard choice between regular controllers and the move/nav combo. All I know is when a company gets to FOCUS on 1 console then the peripherals and the game just turns out to be a overall better game. Where did these people get these ridiculous low scores? I'd give it at least a 9-10 ::shrug:: but thats me and I don't get paid for my score :)

I tried it with both too, if I can get that sharp shooter, I'll be using the move most likely. It worked really well without the gun mod, but with it, my arms won't get as tired and their will be more stability for me and my shaky arms.

i already have it figured out. im getting killzone 3 with release day delivery and a $20 credit at amazon plus that home avatar. then im using the $20 credit to order the sharpshooter. i can wait a few days to save $20 on that thing.

I wonder if Sony is selling it to retailers at a little below their normal costs. Here in Canada, Future Shop has it advertised to include a retail copy of Starship Troopers on blu-ray and Zellers has it advertised selling for $49.99.

cant understand why sony dont use these worldwide.
they really need to start advertising their games!
then they wonder why they sell so poorly.........
sony spend more time and money advertising 3rd party games then they do their own!
for example MvC just came out 2 days ago and ive seen at least 2 adds a day for it!
KZ3 releases in 5 days so you would think there would be heaps of adds for it.
right?

no TV adds, no buss adds, no posters, hell not even EB game or JB have any promos up for it!
i swear to god im starting to wonder if SCEAU even have a marketing team, because if they do i want their job!

sorry to burst your narrow minded bubble but i live in ireland and i have seen the killzone 3 adds a few times and even the missus has said it looks good!!
and also theres a tv channel called channel 5 and playstation done a sponsership deal with them to put on adds for sony gaming products at the start and during every break of any movies they show and they show at least 1 every day so i do think sony is starting to advertise a lot more...... so shut it!!

Specially the second one with the sharpshooter.

Game looks and plays amazing. Anyone who actually played it will get this game.

Graphics still look stunning. Can't wait to see the story and how it all plays out.

I feel that Playstation wastes precious time in a 30 second commercial with dialogue. The dialogue is witty and clever but 30 seconds is way too short to give it depth.

I wish Playstation would make commercials for their games and have it all be game footage and focus more on the experience and less on silly dialogue.

People tend to remember things more if they make them laugh. Just video game footage would lead lots of non core gamers to just ignore the commercial, humor can draw everybody in tho.

It's just marketing tactics, besides if it leaves you wanting more, that's a good thing, and you can always dig up some footage online.

Gameplay footage doesn't explain the game to you.

Witty remarks, jokes, and stuff like that explains the game to you.

Like how Kevin goes makes fun of the "FPS experts" while explaining how sick the game is and what the game itself entails that's way more informative.

i'm not he biggest fan of sony's passive advertising. there just needs to be more.

i've been watching kz3 review scores closely, and the only 2 that stand out are the 7's from edge and joystiq. ptom gave it a 10, and they don't just rubber stamp ps3 exclusives, either. they gave gt5 an 8.

anyways, the reviews i'm reading actually are getting me pretty interested. i really enjoyed the beta even with its over entusastic death screams. they gave it personalitity.

Keep in mind many of the so-so scores are twerps whining about it being the same old thing...while they stroke themselves over OTHER games in the same situation. i.e. Mostly double-standard nonsense.

i wish we had kevin butler ad's in the UK. instead we get those daft the game is just the start ones. i'll be honest there not very good and most people i know that have seen them say the same. Here in the Uk Sony tend to do alot of advertising via these the game is just the start reels in cinemas. But i do wish we saw more billboards and tv advertising. I cant possibly begin to say how much of a missed oppertunity Sony have here. They could have broadcast Killzone 3 adverts during the breaks of the champions league football games Spurs vs AC milan and Arsenal vs Barcelona. The adverts would have acheived maximum potential here in europe because of the size of the audience watching these games between some of the biggest football sides in europe.
I live in hope that Sony will get it right some day in europe. I think the kevin butler ad's would certainly be well recieved here in the UK.

I'm just glad they finally made a gun attachment that looks like it will do what it's suppose to. I am so stoked for this game. I've played the demo 5 times already. A few with some buds who came over.

I like how the 2nd player is just some dude that doesn't really exist. ;) I did find myself yelling at Rico to medic me when he was standing right in front of me. He would run away from me and then say he's on his way and run back. Felt like I was yelling at bluedots lol

The sharp shooter is sick!! I don't know any other gaming device that is doing this right now, the move has made some smart moves! The kinect is lame in comparison.
