Red Faction: Armageddon: Return To Mars On May 31
Personally, I was a huge fan of the original Red Faction on the PS2. That GeoMod technology was kinda cool.
I haven't really gotten into the series since, though, and I'm sort of hoping the latest installment will rekindle my interest. THQ has announced that Red Faction: Armageddon will launch in North America on May 31 and on June 3 worldwide. To learn more about this promising title, check out our preview. They're ditching the open-world formula from Guerrilla and going with a more linear adventure; a straight-up action title beneath the surface of Mars. Sure, it may sound more like a generic title now, but based on the footage we've seen thus far, developer Volition seems to be on the right track. And by the way, you might recall that Red Faction movie set to come to the SyFy channel. This will be ready to go in May, which means the made-for-TV film might act as a decent lead-in to the interactive adventure. We're hoping both turn out well.
Was I the only one who liked Red Faction when it came out way back in 2001? I mean, I thought it was pretty damn great.

Going back to a linear structure of gameplay may be one of the better decisions for the Red Faction franchise, simply because it worked well for the first 2 games.
Unfortunately, with the number of great games releasing this year, this game is gonna have to wait for the discount period. It looks good, but its no Uncharted 3, Deus Ex, Mass Effect 3, Dragon Age 2, LA Noire, Killzone 3, Infamous 2, Last Guardian, RAGE or Star Wars the Old Republic. To me, these are the big game-changers, and it's what you have to do to survive as a developer this gen.
Sadly, if THQ wants to survive this gen, they need to make AAA games that stand out. I'll wait for RF:A's review, and if it's a game-changer, I may consider a purchase on release.

i mean who does not want to fire a magnet to a wall, then fire another magnet onto a enemy and have the wall fly towards the enemy?
freaking hilarious!
why shoot people, when you can have buildings doing the dirty work for ya?
thats something KZ3 really needs, everyone was saying last night while playing KZ3s SP was wheres the damage?
fire 10 WASP rockets into a enemies cover and theres not a scratch on it!
WTF?
KZ3 reminds me so much of GT5.
tries to do so many things that it never nails them.
feels completley outdated!
