Severed DLC For Dead Space 2 Dated
If you're a Dead Space 2 fan - and really, who isn't? - you'll probably be interested in the upcoming downloadable content.
In the Severed DLC expansion, Gabriel and Lexine from Dead Space: Extraction will make their DS2 debut; they will lead the way through a freakish new piece of storyline in the pack known as "Severed." It's a two-chapter plot elaboration that also features a special guest from the first Dead Space; the Twitcher. The pack will be available for $6.99 on the PlayStation Network or 560 Microsoft Points on the Xbox Live service; it's March 1 for the latter and the following day for the former. This is just one of those games that has to be experienced, that demands your undivided attention. Although it doesn't represent a new horizon for the action/survival/horror blending (the first title did that), it builds on a solid foundation and provides the player with yet another intense, chilling ride. And we always love to see any DLC that expands upon the single-player element of a game.
If you haven't played DS2 yet, you're missing out.

Definitely need some new modes. Don't think I'll ever go back to that now that KZ3 is in hand.

I've opened ports, tried DMZing the PS3...no luck. Hell, I even participated in the closed multiplayer-beta, and other people had the same problems. I told the team, they acknowledged it, but no fix yet. I would rather have a patch for the game than buy more content.

Zealot and HardCore run throughs lasted 8 1/2 hours each.
Then running through on casual with the hand cannon took 3 hours 15 minutes.
I think the game is paced really well though. The seamless chapters add a nice feel to the game.

Aftermath I didn't like as much, but it was still good. Nowhere near as much Necromorph action, but it revealed some interesting things about the Marker. The worst thing about the movie though is the CGI; its like PS1 graphics, its just absolutely terrible IMO.
As for Martyr, CrusaderForever is right, it is extremely good. Probably the best video game-based novel I've ever read except for some of the Mass Effect books tbh. It has a ton of interesting things about the Black Marker, Altman, and Unitology in it, and the twist at the end is just plain crazy.
So if I were you, I'd read the book instead of watching the movies (the book is definitely better), but if you're not interested in the book then you should see the movies. They're a pretty good watch, and while they're not perfect, they have some interesting little bits of story and some good action.
