Two New Patches Will Enable Custom Games In Killzone 3
If you're into online multiplayer and you've taken a shine to the recently released Killzone 3, you probably wanna know: where are my custom games?
They don't exist yet but don't worry, they're coming. Guerrilla Games confirms that this oft-requested feature will soon return, although it won't be exactly the same as it was in KZ2. Two separate upcoming updates will enable custom games; the first will enable "base functionality" like custom game modes and settings, while the second update will offer "more control over game modes and settings" and the option to select available careers. More features will also arrive in due time but for now, it's enough to know that custom games will soon be back. As always, any time you can give the online player more freedom and customization options, the happier they tend to be. But don't forget that Killzone 3 also has quite the satisfying single-player campaign, which is absolutely intense and fulfilling. Once you're done, you can then head online and indulge.
We'll let you know when these important updates arrive. Until then, feel free to log on and practice.

Only thing I'm curious as to why it's not in the game is onlie campaign co-op. Split screen is ok but I can't use move during it, and I really hate my buddy cramping my screen! ;) maybe later we'll see that, not really a big issue though!

I personally am glad they focused on the these things first, and the fact that its getting patched in is great. Guerrilla games is pretty good with keeping things patched from what I remember. I can picture Activision releasing the same news only with a 5 dollar price tag attached to it.

KZ3 has great gameplay, really good fun, and the squad system is the best I've seen in a matchmaking game to date (granted, CoD and BC2 were hardly great at it, so best only has to mean it works) - but the lack of custom games has left a lot of us wondering what GG were smoking when they put KZ3 together. Particularly as they already had the best custom game code this gen from KZ2!

So far, I just been playing the SP mode a bit before I get ready to swap my phat 60 into a new size 640 next week, but I'm already past the point where we've killed the freaking huge mauler.
And IMO, as far as KZ3 goes....

Admittedly, I die by them much less (their name turns red when you scan your crosshair across them) than I used to, but I also have much less ammo from shooting teammates as a precaution. lol
Ah... the number of times I've said to my friends, "oh, you're real."
Anyways, I feel infiltrators are at a disadvantage for poor range and the fact that it's tough to string killstreaks. I almost always guarantee a kill or two as an infiltrator, sure, but as opposed to being tactician, I'll never get a big killstreak going.

As for the Calibration, I haven't had any problems yet, although I did have to dial down my sensitivity a bit. The reticle was a little to twitchy at first so that if I panned left or right, my guy would sit and spin because I moved to fast...once I turned it WAY down, it calmed down after that.
Other than that, I'm loving playing with the Move, I don't think I'll ever be good enough to use it for online, but it's a fun way to go through the SP.

No Snore, I don't think he had addressed it in the KZ3 review nor mentioned it in the video commentary. I think Ben has mentioned something about possibly talking about the Move implementation at a later date though.
Later.

I agree, those infiltrators gave me the most frigging deaths in the beta.
They'd run up the steps towards me & just before I was about to pop off a few rounds at 'em, I'd see they were a friendly, but just after they'd pass me, they'd wheel around & melee me.
I did happen to cap one right away, when I saw he csme around the corner with my very own name over his head.
No, no, no that just wasn't happening, cause there's only one original BikerSaint!!!!!

Thanks for the tip, I'll have to try it when I finally go into MP mode.
Just finished the SP campaign on normal a few minutes ago & I'm trying to decide if I want to keep doing it again on each of the harder modes, or if this 1st time MP n00b should just go get his feet wet before everyone else gets their millions of XP & all their unlocks before I even get in there.
I did wind up with a little over 170,000 XP & a bunch of ribbons & unlocks in my very first time MP & beta with KZ3, but I saw that 3 guys in there already had some hellified 2 million plus XP stats, LOL

Well, If I remember right the beta was on for about 6 days, but I was in there off & on for all of them.
Since I'm a first time MP & a first time beta n00b, I'd go in around 3 in the morning when I thought it would be a little lighter(nope it was usually 8 vs 8)& at least a few of those days I stayed in it for around 8 or more hours each. I played all the different MP modes but started with the botzone mode just as a KZ refresher course.
Then I jumped into the "operation" mode(my favorite mode) & I got comfortable enough that I was getting 2time-XP soon afterwards & I was also able to to wind up the quickest guy to set both charges for 500 points plus the extra rewards points for getting both. Then I maxed out all the unlocks in the "engineer class" & the turret bots I placed also made a nice number of XP kills for me too. I also repaired everything I could find for extra points, and I usually had the most repairs, so I got a lot extra XP rewards for that too. Hell, what was most surprising to me, was that I even made the most headshots & wound up at as #1 on the individual in-session leader-board quite few times, so a lot more XP points for all those too(but I think I only made the in-session leader-board just because there were more new n00bs in there just like me), LOL
I have to pick the "Warzone" mode where the game randomly chose what the mission was, as my 2nd favorite.
And in one of my earliest "warfare" games, the game randomly selected the timed "assassination" mode & then it frigging selected "ME" as the ISA's target.
Yeah that's right, way to go Guerilla Games, pick on the 1st-time n00bie right off the bat, LOL.
And I almost made it through using a duck, weave, & kill strategy, and nobody could find me to even got a shot off on me......
....well, that was until I finally got assassinated by someone that snuck into the hallway & did a 1-shot/1-kill on me from afar as I was doing a refill at my last ammo box....and with only 22 seconds left on the count-down timer. GRRRRRRRRR!!!!
And after getting the game, I just finished the "real" SP mode on normal mode last night, maybe around 15-18 hours, but that's not a correct time, just because I stopped whenever I could just to hang around & "gawk-out" at all the amazing colors, details to the environment & surroundings. And watching the seas churning below while on the iceburgs, & then to check out the lush colorful jungle up close & personal like, just continued to keep me memorized. I tell ya, it's like a brand new wonder drug.....my brain on Killzone!

Btw your the first I've heard complain of this. I havnt had troubles yet. Maybe you could try picking a different region in that case? Idk but you should just give up completely on games altogether. Doesn't seem like you enjoy it very much.

Blankguy never has anything positive to say about sony exclusives.
Blankguy only looks forward to MULTIPLAT games, therefore i deduct that blankguy owns a 360 &/or a pc.
I suppose i can understand his bitterness as us PS3 users get 99% of all the console releases that are worth playing & blankguy gets 25% maybe!
AHAHAHA

Yup, I knew it...you're were still f*cking at it, scamming & thieving away just the same as when you used to constantly brag here here about ripping off the developers before the 7 days were up, just to get all of your money back.
It's a shame the register biscuits there at all your gaming stores aren't smart enough to figure out by now that you've been scamming & stealing from them all these years.
Good thing for you that I don't work at any of them, cause I would have banned your sorry ass from ever entering the store again, after only your 2nd try & called you out as a worthless common petty thief, & then hoped you didn't like it.
I hate f*cking thieves & scammers!

I logged in last night, this morning, this afternoon, & tonight too, and not one itsy-bitsy iota of a problem.
Hey, don't let the servers know it's you & they'll probably let you in. They just don't want any negativity infecting all their good karma.

And sofar, i don't have the problem with the infiltrator. I just somehow avoide them and if someone is coming up behind me, my medi droid lets me know.

All you have to do now is press BACK on the movement stick for about a half second and you'll break free. After which you can move around crouched without being affixed to the cover. I found this by accident and it's pretty useful, and it helps serve to offset the crouch/cover frustration from the prior game.

But so far KZ3 has got to to be the most color vivid game I'm ever played....and that's coming from a collector who's sampled every single one of the 2049 games in all of my ever-growing gaming collections.
(I just picked up a Intellevision-2 system that came with 4 games, Ice Trek, Beauty & the Beast, Triple Action, & Burger Time.
Yay, can't wait to load up some retro Burger Time!

Just played the first two hours of K3 and it is amazing. The controls are pretty intuitive. I feel like I am picking off the Higs easier than I did in K2.
The graphics and sound are stunning. I'm even really into the story. It's very sci-fi and grand in scale.
It's got a strategy to it that I found was totally absent in all of the COD games. The enemy AI is excellent. They are a brilliant adversary...
I just wish I could afford/justify a 3D TV.
