L.A. Noire Pre-Order Bonuses Detailed

Rockstar's L.A. Noire has our attention. In fact, few titles in 2011 excite us more.

And if you're equally excited, you'll want to pre-order one of the most promising games of the year. They've sent over the pre-order incentives for various retailers, so pay attention: putting down a deposit at Amazon.com nets you "The Broderick" Detective Suit, which "boosts your fist-fighting capabilities and resilience to damage." This could prove helpful when talking fails and the situation downgrades to fisticuffs. If you want to pre-order at Best Buy, you can get "The Sharpshooter" Detective Suit, which "enhances your aim with rifles and pistols." If you've never been that steady with a gun or you'd simply rather have the extra assistance, this one's for you.

GameStop will give you something different; "The Naked City" Vice Case, which is a bonus case for detective Cole Phelps to solve. You'll also get The Badge Pursuit Challenge; search around 1947 Los Angeles for 20 police badges. If you can nab 'em all, you'll receive the Button Man suit, which offers extra ammo for all weapons. Lastly, pre-ordering at Wal-Mart will get you "A Slip of the Tongue" Traffic Case, where "a seemingly run of the mill car theft ends up sparking an explosive investigation into the largest auto fraud racket the city has ever seen."

So, which incentive suits you best? You do have L.A. Noire on your purchase list, right?

Yes but do they offer you credit? Amazon gets you $10 credit right now and can be bumped up to $20, like I got with KZ3 and Bulletstorm each.

Question is : should I use the credit on this or the hero edition for inFamous 2

I'll be pre-ordering from Best Buy later this week, though purely out of loyalty. 'The Naked City' and 'A Slip of the Tongue' sound the best to me, so I'll guess I'll just have to wait for those.

That bit about badge-hunting doesn't sit quite right me, however. I hope that type of gameplay won't be present much (if at all) in the main game, as it seems like it would take me out of the experience.

Yeah, pretty hyped about this game...might be the one that manages to drag me away from ME2- for a while.

Please tell me that all of these will be available eventually!

This is shaping up to be a really great game, any true gamer will pick this title up. I will not be picking it up on day one, but a month or so down the road I will be getting it.
This year is going to be the greatest gaming year ever! I'm so excited. :D

I expect them to all come with a collectors edition, and then later on as DLC for the rest of us. Cuz that's what always happens.

None of those appeal to me or force me to preorder or make me want to pick any store over another. I will be preordering solely because it would be an absolute crime for me not to get this game as soon as humanly possible.

Probably Amazon, I think I own stock there.

My first post! Honestly I'm sad to say I haven't felt like Rockstar has been putting out the Blockbuster titles I expected and L.A. noire isn't really exciting me either. I just can't shake the suspicion that our main character will be insulted and manipulated by his inferiors as has been consistent with Rockstar's other games (Manhunt, Bully, GTA3, Vice City, San Andreas, Red Dead Redemption). My brother and I were codebreaking GTA3 and Vice City on the PS2 literally in a van down by the river so I have a lot of respect for Rockstar and every bone in my gaming body hopes this game is a defrib for RS and not a swan song, but with a pre-order bonus like "search for 20 police badges within the city" I am very worried for this game and it's creators.

This looks to be as revolutionary, if not more revolutionary, than GTA, Red Dead, Shadow of the Colossus and Heavy Rain combined!!

D1P. Already secured my copy at EB Games. This is no.3 on my must-buy list, just behind Uncharted 3 and Mass Effect 3. After LA Noire comes Dragon Age 2, Infamous 2, Portal 2, The Last Guardian, Team ICO Collection, Duke Nukem Forever and Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

The more I hear about LA Noire, the more impressed I am. With all the content being announced right now, it's little wonder the game took over 4 years to make.

I guess good things come to those who wait.

Once again, don't approve of Pre-order DLC. I only pre-order games I 100% know i am going to get. An art book or making of documentary usually is a special edition selling point to me.

LA Noire seems alright, but it just has not caught my interest at this moment, may get it in a few months due to the drought this year in gaming untill the last quarter.

Hmmm....I'm still not sold on this game. Something about it just doesn't feel right to me. Nothing major, it's just not setting my heather alight.

Exactly how I feel as well!

I'm sure I'll eventually buy it at a much later time, but I don't think I'll be absolutely needing it on the first day like I felt with Heavy Rain. I just spent $100 on Duke Nukem too so I'm trying to save some money now. L. A. Noir kind of popped up on my radar out of nowhere since I wasn't really following it, so I didn't save any money for it. There are a lot of other games I need to buy.

I'd buy Duke Nuken, if it wasn't for the fact that my wife would kill me. LOL! I loved the originals back in the day, but what is kitchy and fun when it's fairly crude 3D graphics 15 or more years old, loses it's charm when it's in full HD glory along with more extensive vocalizations than the original had (if memory serves).

Ah well, there are so many other games right now, it's not a huge penalty.
