Crytek: 60 Hours To Reach Top Rank In Crysis 2 Multiplayer

Well, this is new. When a developer talks about length, they're typically referring to the single-player element.

And that's because the multiplayer has no story and hence, no beginning and no end. But many games allow you to rank up online and some fans say, "I wonder how long it'll take me to reach the top rank..." Well, in Crysis 2, that process will take around 60 hours. And here's a progression video:

You can view a few of the upgrades seen in that video through the link above; there's cool stuff like Stealth Enhance and Tracker (highlight the footsteps of other players), and four separate armor modes were highlighted: Air Stomp, Threat Tracer, Detonation Delay, and Rapid Fire.

There's no doubt that Crysis 2 is a relatively deep shooter, and the online multiplayer component looks great. The only question left is whether or not Crytek can deliver on all their lofty claims...

The multiplayer looks interesting...I like that your suit gives you different abilities..This game is still suspect to me..they've done a lot of talking..put up or shut up time if you ask me..

This is Crytek not Topware! These guys know how to make high quality games. I have all the respect in the world for these guys. I predict this game gets 9.2 here at PSX!

I agree with crusader... I don't think this can top the original since it's being released on consoles, but I trust Crytek will make another solid Crysis

Huh, I want this...........BAD! This looks surreal! How easy is it to use all the different suit powers? Is it like Crysis with the wheel? I guess I will have to read some previews to answer my questions. This is D1P! I am level 16 in KZ3 MP now so I should be able to get maxed by the time Crysis 2 comes out. I never use to play MP but that is now my most favorite part of every game I play. KZ3 and Crysis 2 in my PS3 library = Heaven!

I tried the multiplayer demo on 360 a few weeks back. It's not bad. And it looked pretty nice. I'm still much more eager to see how the campaign turns out, as that'll be the purchasing factor for me.

Is there a MP demo for Crysis 2 on PSN? If so I am downloading it today to give it a try. Looks so fun! Cannot wait to jump off a building and smash ground in between 4 enemies!!!

This trailer makes it look a little better but I'm still not sold on this game. I may pick it up when it's cheap but definitely won't pay full price for it.

Amazon has a $10 off credit right now if you preorder. I canceled my Mortal Kombat preorder for now and used my $20 credit on this. I got it for $38! But it didn't allow me to use the additional $10 that I receive for getting this game. Hopefully after it ships they will just take off an additional $10 so that I end up paying $28. Now that would be a great price!!

The credit you get for buying games off of Amazon is for future purchases. I used the $20 I got from KZ3 towards Socom 4. That came out to $38 with only a $1 shipping for day of release.

Crysis isn't a game I have ever really wanted so even if I got it for $38 day of release I still wouldn't buy it. I may pick it up later but there is no hurry for me. Lots of better games coming out in my opinion.

WOW, I have never been into the more realistic FPS like COD or anything like that preferring games like Resistance BUT this looks like it's time for me to branch out and join the ranks of my fellow compadres and get my kill on.

Crysis isnt realistic at all. Most of the weapons are realistic, but thats where it stops.

60 hours isn't very long considering some people on my friends list can play games like COD for 5 to 6 hours a day for months at a time.P.S. COD sucks, KZ3 FTW!!!

I think crysis looks great!!!! I can't wait for this one!!! I hope whne they say, "both console versions of the game are exactly the same." they also consider the framerate for the ps3 version. Make this one a clean on EA!!!

so 10 days then?
they need to increase the level cap in that case if they dont want people trading the game in after a few weeks.
im more interested to see how long the campaign will take, crysis took me around 14 hours if i remember right.
hope they release heaps of mod tools for us to use, thats the best thing about crysis every day theres a new mod to play around with!
thats one thing i wish would come to consoles, so much fun playing around with mod tools to create new things for the game.
best way to keep people from trading it in too because theres always new things to create and new things to play.

The only thing that sounds interesting and new out of all those perks is the "Follow in your enemy's footsteps" thing, and that could be a really cheap perk if its not implemented right.

The multiplayer does seems fairly complex though, but its not a deciding factor in my purchase of the game.
