Serious Sam 3: BFE Revealed, Set To Heat Up Summer

If you're not familiar with Serious Sam, here's a quick summary: shoot everything in sight as fast as humanly possible. And don't ever stop.Devolver Digital has revealed Serious Sam 3: BFE; it's being prepared for consoles and PC and it'll release this summer. The game is a prequel to the very first title - Serious Sam: The First Encounter - and takes place in 22nd-century Egypt. Civilization is dying out fast due to an invasion of "unearthly beasts," which sounds just about right for a Serious Sam adventure. As for "BFE," we have no idea what that stands for; the developer would only say, "for now, it's just BFE." Both returning enemies and new foes will be included, and we'll also get a few new gameplay additions, like Sam's fresh melee moves. Lastly, there will be a co-op campaign mode, and 16 players can play together online. Don't expect anything but over-the-top insanity and a completely pointless story; Serious Sam is about ceaseless, unending shoot-'em-up entertainment.

It's not Call of Duty, it's not Killzone...it's not really like anything. It's freakin' Serious Sam.

Sounds like Bulletstorm? I know that Serious Sam was renowned as being one the first games to use skyboxes... so that's something. It doesn't seem like my kind of thing, but I'll keep it in mind if I don't have too much on my plate when the slump season comes around.

Oh, and BFE: "Bio-Fuel" Enemies ;P
Peace.

BFE = Bum Fu**ed Egypt, ie: in the middle of nowhere. Since the game takes place in Egypt.

Since it's a prequel to "The First Encounter", I'd wager that BFE stands for "Before First Encounter". LOL

I really, really want to unload on a swarm of screaming headless suicide bombers with a pair of pistols again. And now it looks like i will get to do just that.

Just the sound of it makes me smile
