Next-Gen Ratchet And Clank Gets Named

Ratchet and Clank Officially Titled

Yesterday, we found out the April EGM would be releasing a ton of information on the new Ratchet and Clank for the PS3. Today, 1Up is giving us one major detail: the official name of the game, which is Ratchet and Clank Future: Tools of Destruction.

If you've ever wondered how Insomniac arrives at their name decisions, check out what design director Brian Allgeier has to say:

"[The name] works on many levels. It signals a new era for the franchise, ties into the game's story, and includes one of our signature subtitle double entendres."

Really? All that? Heck, we just think it sounds cool. You European gamers might even get a chance to enjoy this particular title, considering you missed out on Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal (they were changed to Locked and Loaded and the simple Ratchet and Clank 3). But either way, this bad boy is on EGM's cover next month, so you need to be on the lookout for it.

Now, how's about some news on that Resistance: Fall of Man sequel...? We know it's in the works, even if it is a ways off.
