Battle The Shadows Of The Damned On June 7
What's the deal with using Twitter as a venue for big announcements? Geez.
Well, whatever: Grasshopper Manufacture decided to drop the release date for their new highly anticipated project, Shadows of the Damned, via their English-language Twitter feed. As you can see, the horrifying third-person shooter will be ready to go on June 7, and we'd like to assume they're talking about the North American date. It's on their English Twitter channel, after all, and June 7 does fall on a Tuesday. Shadows is the new brainchild of established developers Suda51 (No More Heroes, Killer7) and Shinji Mikami of Resident Evil fame. Believe it or not, this is EA's first venture with a Japanese developer, so that's news in and of itself. As for the game, you will play as demon-slayer Garcia Hotspur, who travels to hell to save his beloved Paula. Suda51 described it as having a "punk rock edge," and let's not forget that the soundtrack has been composed by Akira Yamaoka, who worked on the Silent Hill franchise.
Shadows of the Damned is coming for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC and if you missed the official unveiling from last year's Tokyo Game Show, feel free to catch up. Looks promising.

hope its polished and lives up to expectations because it seems a little early to be releasing this.
hope its properly scary too, been so long since a game actually scared me.
doom 3 in fact was the last game to do that.
what happened to the ps1 and ps2 games were horror pants wetting games were a plenty?
plenty of suspenceful games like RE, SH, bioshock, DS, F.E.A.R but none of them are actually scary, let alone pants wetting scary.

I don't know why, but everytime I hear about this game it seems to have that Japanese air about it, and that should separate it from the more typical Western styled horror games we've been having lately, where the focus is more on action. I'm interested, but it won't be a D1P. Too many other things swirling.
Peace.
