Atlus: No Trailer For Catherine...Oh Wait, Yeah There Is
CatherineAtlus has enjoyed playing with our minds and emotions concerning Catherine.
First, they say it isn't coming to North America; then they announce it is. Today, they send out a press release entitled, "Atlus Has No Plans At This Time To Release Catherine Screenshots, Teaser Trailer." The comment from Crystal Murray, Atlus PR Specialist was-
"You can't believe every little rumor you hear out there on the internets. The internet's a big series of tubes, and sometimes when everyone's trying to download their emails at the same time, some of the stuff goes into the wrong tube."
And then- "The publisher immediately followed this statement by releasing said assets." They're just going crazy over there. Anyway, here's the new American teaser.
And if you visit the game's official website, you'll find more new media and even samples from what seems to be a fantastic soundtrack. For our part, we're just happy the game is coming, and Atlus' press releases always seem to stick out. They're good at that.

However, it may have to wait for a dry gaming month for a purchase, and I'm hoping it doesn't go for the full $109.95 AU price tag like most new release games here in Oz.
... that's if it makes it to Australia at all. Really does suck being a hardcore gamer here.

Anyways, I'm not really into that anime, shaded cell style, or whatever it's called.
But in the realm of all thing's considered, I'm certainly interested for the bizarro storyline.
The music for the US trailer is great, and my 1st thoughts on it was of a haunted carousel or haunted fun-house, which I think would actually blend in perfectly with his haunted nightmares.

I'm not the biggest fan of Japanese anime or Japanese cultural games, hence why (call me crazy) I didn't get into the Yakuza games. Too many other great games from Western developers got my attention.
But even so, while I'm not a big fan of anime, the story, puzzles, gameplay and relationships explored within Catherine really appeal to me. It's kinda why I loved Heavy Rain so much.
Any games that allow the player to explore relationships with other characters are usually favourites of mine. Heavy Rain and Mass Effect 2 are prime examples. If the developers create a highly advanced relationship exploration system across multiple paths and multiple characters, it's immediately got me interestes, hence why I might give Catherine a go.
Also, am looking forward to David Cage's next project, he hinted it will be about exploring the relationship between a straight-forward business man and a carefree woman who was once protected from the outside world. Love these kinds of games!!

Oh, and am I the only one that finds Katherine more alluring than Catherine? I just get the feeling that the first would be more my type.
