L.A. Noire: The Naked City Pre-Order Bonus Detailed

If you're sold on Team Bondi's L.A. Noire, you'll probably want to pre-order the highly ambitious game.

And if you do so at GameStop in either the U.S. or Canada (or at Game in the UK), you'll receive a great bonus: "The Naked City" Vice Case. Detective Cole Phelps must investigate the apparent suicide of a fashion model; the beautiful young girl was found naked in her bathroom amidst a pool of pills. Hence, the conclusion seemed to be obvious...

But other evidence soon comes to light, and we begin to think the girl wasn't quite the innocent so many believed her to be. Maybe she got mixed up with the wrong crowd because she wanted to live beyond her means. Maybe she had been hiding the darker corners of her life from her friends and family. The truth must be found...and that's why you're involved.

Those graphics look amazing! Hope the story can hold up because being a brother shamus in 1940s L.A. doesn't appeal to me really. Let's see a remake of Vice City with this technology WHO'S WITH ME?!

I'm with you!...but something else. Vice City won't feel right...it had it's time. Remaking a classic is hard.

I have a feeling I'm not going to really dig this game. I love Rockstar and all, but this theme and time period aren't really clicking for me. Add in a cast that doesn't quite fit my preference and I have a feeling I won't be able to adjust to this game right away. I had problems with KZ3 which I'm familiar with (now I love it), so something unfamiliar like this can go two ways. One I will love it or two I will want to sell it back. Hope this surprises me.

And again...these preorder exclusive missions need to end.

That case looks good but I prefer not to give my money to Gamestop if it can be avoided.

Man I go to Gamestop because it's right down the street. Even though I live in LA, I don't care to go drive 5 minutes somewhere else when Game stop is 1 minute away...lol

Amazon for me too!! Most games end up with a 10 or 20 dollar credit as well as some exclusive thingy for buying from them.

I usually justify release day shipping with the credit I get, so I don't have to wait longer than everyone else.

I only use Amazon these days. Don't like BestBuy and like Gamestop even less.

Why pay for shipping when I can go to the store and get it on notice. Plus you get the pre-order bonues. There no reason for me to shop online when I can just go out and get it.

Amazon already has my preorder. They are offering a costume and $10 off your next purchase.

Why oh why does the Yankee Amazon get all the credit? I'd preorder all my games from them if they actually threw Canada a bone every once in a while.
Was about to get Fight Night and MK the other day off them, swept up by the current of discounts, then realized the shipping would cancel out the savings anyway.

I'd rather pay for it via dlc than pre-order it from gamestop. With my record they would decide on release day not to give this with gamestop pre-orders.

I'll be waiting for the review anyway, regardless of pre-order incentive. Unless the incentive is half off, I'll be playing the waiting game.

L.A. Noire, Brink, and Red Faction: Armageddon. What looks like three quality games being released on the same day, and begging for a purchase...ughh...Sometimes I hate my video game addiction... :(

Marilyn Monroe???

What? This sounds cool, but I'll take the game as is. That being said, I don't still want to be here on the 20th of May. It's frustrating to be trying to a plan a leisure trip when gaming is producing so much awesome leisure itself.

And Ben, I'm so glad that you keep iterating that this is being developed by Team Bondi. So many other previews and whatnot make it sound as if R* is developing it.
Peace.

It seems as if Gamestop has the better pre-order incentive so I'll head there. I can't wait for this game either..This is going to be a experience.

It is a shame Sony gave up on this as a first-party game, allowing R* to scoop it up and make it multiplatform.

Well sony is usually pretty good at recognizing potential and a good vision so maybe at that point this game was lacking in those areas and so they let it go? In any case there's no point in dwelling on what could be, just get excited for what there is.

D1P, cant wait to play this game but amazon 10$ dollar credit (im sure it will go up to $20) for me is more important than the naked city pre-order.

Why do I feel like I'm getting jipped out of content I could have on day one by preorder incentives again?

That's the sound of your wallet getting D-Blocked. There's gotta be some kind of competitive perk that the different devs get for coming up with the highest selling pre-order bonus for a game like a up-front parking spot or pizza for a month. The Marilyn Monroe guys are a shoe-in.
