THQ Expects Homefront To "Compete With The Very Best"
Competition in the first-person shooter category is stiff and if you can't deliver the goods, you're in trouble.
But THQ is confident in Kaos Studios' Homefront, scheduled to release on March 18. The game has now gone gold, and THQ core games boss Danny Bilson took the opportunity to promote the upcoming game's quality. In fact, Bilson went on record saying that Homefront could be huge for the publisher:
"Homefront is set to become one of THQ's most successful original IP launches. The team at Kaos have spent three years building an FPS that competes with the very best, offering a thrilling and original single player experience and hundreds of hours of multiplayer."
Featuring "hundreds of dedicated servers" worldwide, THQ director of infrastructure Drew Como added that his team understands the importance of dedicated servers. Both the console and PC versions will get them, and it allows the game to boast 32 players online "on large maps with infantry, vehicles and drones."
Launching one week before Crytek's Crysis 2, Homefront might be primed to steal a little FPS thunder. Some remain skeptical but others say that what we've seen thus far is mighty impressive...

EDIT: It's being written by John Milius who co-wrote Apocalypse Now, so there should be a pretty good story

I for the life of me can't understand how people never tire of shooter after shooter after shooter. You need some variety and not just via PSN/XBLA download.
