Bid On Autographed MGS Stuff For Japan Relief Effort

If you want to help Japan in this time of crisis, there's something you can do - as a gamer - to help.

Go ahead and visit Play For Japan, where you can learn about ways to ease the pain felt in the Land of the Rising Sun. The American Red Cross is lending their efforts to the relief process, and to assist, you can purchase all sorts of autographed goodies. This includes a copy of Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty signed by the master himself, Hideo Kojima (as donated by 1Up's Sam Kennedy), as well as other MGS-related merchandise. Alex Fraioli has a Japanese copy of the original Metal Gear Solid Integral signed by the designer, and Andrew Vestal has donated a copy of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater, signed by Kojima and art director Yoji Shinkawa. If MGS isn't your thing, there are plenty of other gifts that will reward your contribution. If you feel like bidding on some of the auctions, let us know; we're always interested to hear about goodwill actions.

Gaming will continue along, as will the rest of the world, but if we can help, we should definitely do so.

That's an awesome idea, some pretty cool stuff to bid on too.

I bet the yakuza fan here at psx would go nuts for that yakuza track jacket.

For anyone wishing to donate directly the Japanese Red Cross, I went to the Japanese red cross web site, and they have a donations page that gives you the bank information you need if you want to send money directly.

This is the Japanese Red Cross page in English;

http://www.jrc.or.jp/english/index.html

Go to the "Emergency Relief" page, and there is a link for "Japan/Earthquake Donation".

If I had the disposable income, I'd be all over this like a fly on poo-poo! Awesome items for an awesome cause... doesn't get better than that!
