Deus Ex Developers "Very Confident" In PS3 Version
It's just about everything you've always wanted to know about Deus Ex: Human Revolution, and probably just a bit more.
If you're looking forward to the game, you just have to visit the PlayStation Blog, where director Jean-Francois Dugas and Producer David Anfossi talk at length about the game's setting, story, artistry, and gameplay. First off, they said it's important to view Human Revolution "as a new IP," and they're "re-imagining" the sci-fi world. You will play as Jensen, a security expert "who becomes the unwilling recipient of bleeding-edge cybernetic augmentations." Secondly, they claim they're "very confident" in the PS3 version. Said Anfossi:
"Since the beginning, it was very important for us to not treat the PS3 version as a ‘port’ — you can trust us on that. We’ve worked that way in the past with other games, and it was crazy."
Well, thank goodness for that. They go on to talk about how the game allowed Eidos Montreal to lure "top talent," and how the art direction was inspired by the Renaissance. Said Dugas: "We knew that transhumanism would be one of the main themes, so we started to dig for artistic connections. And Leonardo Da Vinci kept coming up." Being a fan of past Deus Ex titles, all of this sounds mighty encouraging...how's about you?

It takes Naughty Dog 2 years to make an incredible game on one platform. Multi-plat developers are making a game for 2 or 3 platforms (if theres a pc version) in the same time frame. Combine that with the fact that Sony's first party studios are generally the most talented people in the industry and you can see how time can be a precious commodity in multi-plat development. Publishers want the game out as soon as possible (no programmer wants to make a broken game) and they are willing to sacrifice quality for a shorter dev time.
Crytek did an excellent job with Crysis 2, but it has been in development for a long, long time.

don't tell me to get over it. i can express my views just like you can. get over that. i will never get over inferior multiplats. i get no pleasure that it's this way. it's just so frustrating, sometimes. 5 yrs into this console cycle, and it still happens.
@clam
no worries, it's cool. i know you weren't trying to argue. i was just trying to make a frustrating point.

All those games preform better on PS3. There's even a lot of multiplats that have the exact same performance on both systems. Plus any game that used the PS3 as the lead platform will undoubtedly run better on that system. If a game doesn't run properly on the system it's almost always the developer's fault, not the system itself.

Granted I'm sure both console versions look the same, I just game more on my PS3 than my 360.

well, that's good to know they are showing the ps3 version for once. i will still remain skeptical, however. i am a broken record on these multiplats. crysis 2 looks better on the 360 period. it's more than blurriness. it's like there is a haze in the air. depth of field is better on the 360. crysis 2 was new tech so i got off my butt, and went and checked it out at a friends house. saw no screen tearing whatsoever. we got the inferior version, and all the face offs confirmed that. it's a promising start for a ps3 multiplat, but still not up to snuff. i guess if you like blurinesss, and a hazey washed out look at a lower resolution then good for you. i, for one, do not.
it has been 5 years, and we still get inferior multiplats. enough, already. i will quit complaining when that stops. it drives me nuts, sometimes. new engines, developer reassurences, and still happens.

really getting sick of all the console ports us PC gamers are having to put up with!
as the marketing director for ATI said the other day.
PCs today are around 10 times more powerful then consoles, so why dont PC games look 10 times better?
ill tell you why, because developers cant be f*cked!
i wish next gen there was a merge between the big 3, and consoles did not exist anymore it all went to PCs.
that way we never have to worry about shoddy ports AND you dont have to buy and maintain 4 systems!

But I stopped by a gamer-oriented computer store a few days ago, where they of course have some PCs at display, filled with only the latest hardware. And omg how good it looked. i'm not sure what game were displayed, but we are talking about graphics where light is not only dynamic, but also shine through thin objects like leaves on the trees. It was such a level of details that it was almost scary.
All that's left now is high enough resolutions and then we can start talking about true photo realistic games...!

thats what drives me nuts, you spend all the cash on the hardware then have nothing to use it.
its like hiring a crane to lift a basket of fruit!
what a waste!
allot of PC games dont look that much better then the console games.
homefront, assassins creed brotherhood and crysis 2 for example.
obviously looks better, but not to the scale of the hardware increase!
