PSXE Giveaway: Three Games For The Wallpaper Guru

So let's do something fun. The last time we did this, we got hundreds of new wallpapers and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.

Everyone has one week - starting now - to upload their favorite PS3 and PSP wallpapers. All you have to do is enter your User CP, select "Upload Themes & Wallpapers" and follow the very simple instructions; make sure to follow the restrictions before submitting. I would also ask that you check to make sure we don't already have the wallpaper before uploading. For the record, Babes and Sports seem to be worldwide preferences, so focusing on those categories might give you a better chance of winning... I will select the winner at random but I can pretty much guarantee that the more wallpapers you upload, the better chance you'll have. But uploading 25 crappy wallpapers won't get you very far, so fair warning. ;)

Just a few simple rules-

1. You must be 18 years of age or older and live in the U.S.

2. Wallpapers cannot be branded unless you have permission.

3. No explicit material.

4. All wallpapers must be clear. Poor pictures will be discarded.

The winner will receive Dissidia 012: Duodecim Final Fantasy and 2 mystery games. I won't say what they are, but I can guarantee they're for all the JRPG lovers out there. Also, this is something I may do more of in the future, depending on reader response.

That's cool Ben. Don't be bothered about the USA only stuff. Even when a contest includes Canada it doesn't include Quebec. Our French Nazi provincial government won't allow any such "winnings" into the province.

It's a lose-lose situation here and that's how they like it... apparently.

Uh rule 2 I don't get. I can't use like a Cleveland Indians logo, or a Killzone logo without permission? Am I supposevto just make a wallpaper with a babseball and a bat (without a Louisville slugger logo)

That's if I'm going to making wallpapers, im too lazy. I love JRPGs though.

I'm checking everything, but if I miss a brand you're not going to disqualify us or anything will you, some wallpapers have the tiniest hardest to see brands.

Awesome, I have a bunch, but I tried to upload some last night and I got an error message on a few of them and they wouldn't work. Any idea's? I download a lot of wallpapers, rarely upload them.

did a few last year since god knows why but for some reason sony STILL dont have any GOW3 themes!
thank god theres a app out there that lets you create your own!
wish there was one that let you create your own dynamic themes!
all the ones sony have released are crap!
wish they would give us one of kratos slowly pounding zeus head into the cement!

Ben i have a question, does the size of the picture matter does it have to be the size of an actual wallpaper used on computers? Or can it be big enough to actually see what it is, and what's in the background?

Ben don't ban me for this but you always dog on ign fot having ads and bieng payed to review. When crysis2 was out you put up articles of the ps3 version bieng horrible. Now you have ads every second here, and now you say you "love" crysis2. Not bieng rude just feel like my favorite website got turned into everything it vowed not to be.

Not the slightest clue what you're talking about.

I have never once "dogged" on IGN for any reason whatsoever. Never even mentioned the site once. Not in thousands of articles in over 4 years.

Secondly, I never said I hated Crysis 2 once. In fact, the very first line in one major feature was, "Crysis 2 is a great game." The articles about Crysis 2 maybe being inferior on PS3 were news; not editorials. They were repeating what others said about the game...that's what news IS.

...maybe you could actually try reading. And the ads are not "every second."

I got over 3235 widescreen wallpapers from 720 to higher than 2650x1400. And that's JUST for widescreen. I guess I'm game :)

I thought I had quite a few, but the restrictions say only 1920 x 1080 and 1280 x 720, so a lot were wide screen HD but didn't fit into that criteria.

Been going over this in my head and I'm a bit confused about some things in the article after rereading them a few times.

So if you're picking at random, why would sports and babe wallpapers be helpful and what difference would it make what they are? Just a bit confused. Granted I could see if they are blurry and stuff you would discard them, but still how does random pick get an edge from uploading specific types of wallpapers?
