New Resident Evil Teaser Trailer Hints At Utter Chaos

Ah, teaser trailers. So little in the way of revealing information, so much in the way of titillating vagueness.

Not long after the announcement of Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, we have a teaser trailer that gives us quick glimpses of a besieged city with tons of walking dead. It almost reminds us of an up-close version of Dead Nation, actually. You'll also note what appears to be a ramped-up gameplay speed; we're used to the slow, plodding pace of classic RE, you know?

"What the hell is going on here?" Well, it's a giant mess, and we're tasked with cleaning it up. Fans may not like the new squad-based shooter format, and due to the speed of the gameplay, we wonder how they'll fit in some of those tense, anxious what-the-hell-is-going-to-jump-out-at-me-now moments. But hey, it's a wait and see situation, isn't it? We need gameplay footage...maybe we'll get that soon.

at least it's dark and seems to have some atmosphere. my biggest concern remains that slant six is developing it. confrontation was just an awful looking game with stuttering frame rates, and connection issues. i'm not convinced these guys can code for the ps3, and certainly see no evidence as to why they should be helming one of capcom's preimere franchises.

Regardless of how it was atrelease a lot of issues were cleared up with confrontation. With that said I think we should have a little bit of confidence that maybe, just maybe they can do a good enough job!

The gameplay looks like crap, but I liked the ending of the trailer I missed him.

Looks like Socom Confrontation with zombies. Pass...

Since Capcom is pretty much outsourcing all their game development these days, why not just outsource all future Resident Evil projects to Shinji Mikami's new studio? :)

Looked like left for dead with sub par graphics. I'd be more interested in something closer to older RE titles and I'm not even a RE fan.

Well that was... something. I don't know what it is, but there's something in that trailer that I like. Maybe I'm just trying to vindicate my hope for this game, but I really do think it could be good.

That part I actually like. I love co-op, it's such a fun feature. Anyone who grew up on the SNES generation appreciates co-op.

You know, I think I'm giving this a chance, mainly because it's not a numbered (main line) Resident Evil title. Looks more like a spin-off (it's somewhat of a prequel).

Not liking the warzone crap I saw in the trailer though. If this turns into gun slinging zombies vs humans I'll pass.

I hope the co-op is fun enough, if that part is done right it might be a success. Just don't push Team Death Match crap on us.

Seems like they felt they needed to associate the game with RE or it wouldn't sell. Doesn't look like anything worth getting. Hell DeadNation looks better than this and it's a PSN game.

No more Tank Controls-Check

Seems like this game might actually be somewhat awesome now(ignore previous comment). I just hope they run low on ammo soon that way it is more strategic and survival horrory. Also for the love of good please have your AI partner have some intelligence.

I always wanted to play with my friend (or two, or even 3 of them) in one of the older RE titles.

Now I think I will get this opportunity. Very keen to see how this turns out.
