SOE Closes Three Studios, Forced To Cancel The Agency
Into every life, a little rain must fall.
In an effort to reduce costs and streamline its global workforce, Sony Online Entertainment has announced the closing of its Denver, Seattle, and Tucson studios. This will result in the loss of 205 jobs and unfortunately, the maneuver means SOE's promising project, The Agency, has been canceled. Instead, they're re-allocating resources to focus on two new MMOs based on their PlanetSide and EverQuest franchises. Sony also wants to make it clear that this move "will have no impact on SOE's current portfolio of live games." Therefore, if you're a fan of DC Universe Online, you needn't worry about losing one of your favorite games. The Agency was first revealed way back in 2007 but we hadn't heard much since that unveiling, and it seems the project wasn't far enough along to warrant further pursuit.
We never like reporting news like this, but when it comes to big business, it's never all roses.

It must look different on your screen, because I see a bunch of '*'s. Maybe your browser doesn't have it filtered or something? I dunno.
And I truly couldn't give two licks what you think of Canada. I don't even know where you're from or who you are.

there more interested in bringing useless features to the system, then they are giving us the games they promised!
sony, we dont want netflix!
we dont want a movie streaming service! (which charges almost twice what blockbuster does!)
we dont want qurocity!
we dont want facebook and all that other social service crap!
the ps3 is a gaming machiene, so why are you wasting your time, money, and resources on this crap?
would that not be better spent keeping these guys, and giving us our promised MMOs?
this is whats destroying the company, there more interested in turning it into a media hub then what its suppose to be!
you cant have the best of both worlds, there trying to turn the ps3 into GT5!
has everything, but does nothing perfectly!
id much rather it do only gaming, and do that perfectly!
can we please stop trading off development studios for useless services we dont need?
please!?

The service is ran by Netflix, all Sony did was to allow the Netflix servers to be accessed by the PS3. Come on, just because you don't use it, that makes it obsolete. If that is the case, then your brain and common sense are extremely obsolete because you haven't used either when posting on this site. You are always entertaining though. I will give you that.
