Ninja Gaiden III: A Darker Ryu, Multiplayer Confirmed
There are rumors that the next God of War will boast a multiplayer feature, and we know Ninja Gaiden III will definitely include the option.
Project lead Yosuke Hayashi told PlayStation: The Official Magazine that NGIII will offer gamers a "complex multiplayer mode." He didn't really go into details, but he did add that fans would see a "more sinister Ryu," and the new adventure will "delve more deeply into his feelings." He went on to talk about the violence:
"We are trying to take the violent concepts even deeper and make people realize how it feels to actually kill someone and what it is to actually gut someone. It's very important to us that people realize that violence is not only about blood and gore."
Then he talked about making the game more accessible; while he understands the hardcore fans' feelings regarding the difficulty, the developers are "taking a slightly different approach" to the challenge this time around. The game won't necessarily be easier, per se, but it'll be "a more exciting game that can be enjoyed by anyone." There's even the hint of PlayStation Move support...
But how do you feel about that multiplayer feature? Is it necessary? Are you interested?

What the crap? I hope that was translated incorrectly because that just doesn't read right. How it feels to actually kill someone? Sorry, that's never why I play or would want to play a game.
I also have a hard time accepting the whole Ninja Gaiden is so hard thing. Ninja Gaiden is only hard when you're not thinking about what you're doing. If you play the game to bash buttons and muscle your way through the challenges, you'll more than likely die a lot. It's the very thing that I like so much about the game. It's not a mindless hack 'n slash. If someone takes the time to understand their actions, Ninja Gaiden on normal/warrior difficulty is totally obtainable. So don't bow down the standards of the game for an audience who only wants bloody-death thrills.
Sometimes I wish devs would make games for their target market and continue to stick to that audience. If the audience leaves and the dev is no longer profitable, end the series. And likewise, if a dev feels so compelled to change the very nature of a game's play, then they need to make a new series.

Maybe I just never gave it enough time to understand the mechanic, just seemed like a hacking away to me. I'd definitely be interested in seeing what they do with this one.

waiting till the best time to use a spell.
do i use my health potion now and regain half my health, or do i wait till near death and risk dying but if i time it right i get more health back?
plus to counter attack you have to press the counter at the exact moment the enemy attacks, not the button mashers almost every other game are!
this is all about timing, the combos for instance you cant just press each button to do a combo some are one after another, some are a small pause, some are just as the attack hits.
there all about tactics!
as long as they keep the essence of ninja gaiden, dont dumb it down for the masses ill love it!
a darker grittier gorier ninja gaiden is just what the doctor ordered!
