L.A. Noire Pre-Order Goodies To Become DLC Sooner
Nobody likes to wait.
The pre-order bonuses that came with Red Dead Redemption (the Deadly Assassin Outfit, Golden Guns Weapon Pack, and the War Horse) will be available as downloadable content on the PlayStation Network and Xbox Live Marketplace next week.
...thing is, RDR came out almost a year ago. Will the same thing happen to L.A. Noire, set to launch next month, right around the 1-year anniversary of John Marsten's memorable Western adventure? Well, no, the pre-order exclusive bonuses won't take so long this time around, according to Kotaku:
"Apologies to everyone for having to wait so long to get these available as DLC as there were some unanticipated technical delays - for those of you inquiring about the expected availability of the L.A. Noire preorder bonuses as DLC after game release, those should become available as DLC much, much sooner."
But maybe they shouldn't do that. Doesn't it make the pre-order incentives that much less appealing? We all know most of those incentives become available as DLC at some point, and the sooner they show up, the less we care about pre-ordering, right? Well, of course...one set is free while the other isn't. Maybe that's all that matters.

As for future games, I'd say if you want it without pre-order than they should make it available 1 month after release at a small price, .50-$1, or wait 6 months and give it out for free.
Still seems there would be incentive to pre-order for those who tend to and for those who don't usually pre-order, I doubt they will change their mind just because it takes longer for the pre-order to become dlc.

While we're on the topic, regular DLC needs to stop coming out near the sequel. I just beat Mass Effect 2 and ME 3 is coming really really soon so as much as I'd like to play Arrival, I just can't see spending the money. Maybe they should just make it free to get people re-interested in the series so they buy the sequel or threequel.
