Captivate 11: Dead Rising 2: Off The Record, Brand New IP?

Capcom may have something fresh and new to unveil at their annual Captivate event today, and we already have some supposed leaked information.

According to 3DJuegos, Capcom plans to release Dead Rising 2: Off the Record, which may be some sort of special package that includes all the downloadable content (like Case Zero and Case West). If it is, that's good news for PlayStation 3 fans, because such DLC never did find its way to Sony's machine. Of course, we seriously doubt they'd be able to call this package a "Game of the Year Edition" considering the critical response was nowhere near high enough to warrant that label. So it might just be a "complete" edition of some kind, which would be perfect for those who missed out on DR2 last year. As for other possibilities at the Captivate event, we hear Capcom is going to reveal a brand new IP some time very soon, so we'll keep an eye on that. We already know about Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City...how's about RE6?

Obviously, it isn't a new IP, but we'd like an installment that doesn't focus on action and squad-based shooting.  Something that says, "yep, I'm a Resident Evil game" would be just fine by us.

Dead Rising 2 was like shaving my privates with a rusty chainsaw. Awful game, don't want this. Give me Dark Void 2.

Chainsaw shaving and Dark Void 2. Both sound really painful.

Sorry, thought you were joking. I know Ive got a few in my collection that many would consider "shovelware".

Totally serious. It wasn't AAA or anything and it needs the kind of improvement it could only get in a sequel, but c'mon how many games deliver that kind of jetpack combat?

Also just hearing Nathan Drake's Nolan North voice the main guy is a pleasure.

this game became so repetitive...the zombies after awhile just became a nuisance rather than just plain slaughtering fun...

the new ip is called dragon's dogma. a highly stylized open world action game from the creators of re4 and dmc4. trailer looks pretty good. has a monster hunter vibe to it.

Dragon's Dogma looks amazing, sent Ben a news tip while I was covering the screen shots but I'm sure he's already penning something as we speak.

I'm more interested in Asura's Wrath. New trailer up for that one too.

I wasn't too into Asura last year but with the news that it has heavy story emphasis I'm a little piqued now.

Passed on the original release, don't see any point in changing that stand.

All I care about is RE6. From what I hear, it's gonna be a true to the original remake, which is pretty damn exciting.

I believe RE6 is just a working title.

Dragon's Dogma does look fantastic. I just watched the trailor over at the playstation blog. Lord of the Rings inspired open world, heavy on combat-type game. Siiiiiick.

Dragon's Dogma sounds slick as hell. DR2 doesn't interest, and they've announced yet another SFIV iteration...

Okay, at least we know what they've been working on, and that they've upheld their promise to deliver a new IP.
Peace.

if its a new IP then it cant be RE6.
i hope for either a survival horror, psychological horror, but those will never happen so ill go for a ninja game like ninja gaiden.
as for dead rising 2 DLC.
meh.
game sucked, so i couldent care less about the DLC!
