Metal Gear Solid: Rising Details From Eyes-On Session?
Metal Gear Solid: Rising won't be here until next year, but might we have some very early details...?
Well, we always find it difficult to trust nameless sources in video game forums. That being said, the information posted by user Kolokovitchk in the GameSpot forums seems awfully detailed to be entirely false...not that we'd put anything past those wishing to make a big splash via lies. But after calling himself a "Professional Writer," he says he has first-hand knowledge of Rising, and he runs down various details for graphics, gameplay/controls and sound. Some of the key tidbits include:
-- It uses an updated version of the MGS4 engine.
-- The cover system from MGS4 will be included, but it'll also be upgraded.
-- Character movement compared to Fallout: New Vegas, although this may be attributed to the game being early in development.
It's feasible that all of this is accurate, but until we hear anything from an official source, we'll take it with a grain of salt. But feel free to read the whole thing and decide for yourself; you might even want to sign in and ask a few questions. For my part, I'm interested in Rising - who isn't? - but I have my reservations.
P.S. Also, bear in mind he's talking about the PC version.

He keeps calling it MGS5, which as has been stated from the beginning that it is NOT. I can find no mention of the development studio he keeps banging on about. He mentions that they were formed a year ago, but there would be some sign of them somewhere. Besides, I seriously doubt that the guys at Kojima Productions would turn to an untried studio for anything considering they've got the backing of all of Konami.
I call BS on this whole thing.
Can't wait until we get some real info.
Peace.
Sorry for the rant-y post, but I am irked by this.

oh well, in other news god of war 4 will be out sept 2012 according to psm3. re6 will be a complete rennovation. oh yeah, it's rumored that r* is working on a gta title for the wii2. specs have been leaked by credible sources and it will indeed be more powerful than ps3/360,
i'm actually a little excited for the wii 2. i'm tired of all the sub hd resolutions we get, and poor framerates.

As for Rising, i'm still a bit skeptical. Metal Gear to me is over, it ended with MSG4, I could accept Peace Walker, however if they had one more game set in that era (Which is not a remake or MG1 and 2 on the PSP) I don't think i would even accept that. I guess the story between MGS2 and MGS4 is plausible but is it needed... certainly not.

the devs announced at E3 last year think it was that they were working on a whole new engine for this.
which would explain why its taking so long!
come on, i want to slice up some baddies!
why does every hack and slash game have to release next year?
devils third, ninja gaiden 3, this.
:(
i want some sword swinging action for now!
oh lord what i would give to have my tenchu series back!
long live the ninja!
