PS3 Updates With Version 1.54
If you turned on the PS3 later on last night, you will have noticed the now-recognizable prompt for a system upgrade. Of course, what the update does is always a mystery, but that's why we're here; to figure it out for ya, via our own tests and scanning the 'Net. Sometimes, it's a worthwhile and even anticipated update, other times...well, it's like this one.
So what does it do? Well, here's exactly what firmware update 1.54 offers:
- The image of the person you are chatting with during video chat can now be changed to match the screen size
- You can now use a USB camera compatible with USB video class (UVC) for video chat
Um...yippee? At least that big update is still looming on the horizon for this month, as it should be the first super-big update for the system. Sony has said it will be ready for the European launch on March 23, but we don't know exactly when...and of course, we don't really know what the update includes, either. But hey, it just adds to the mystique, right?
