Ubisoft Shooting For September For Child Of Eden PS3

When we first saw the intriguing Child of Eden, Tetsuya Mizuguchi appeared to conduct an orchestra of light and sound with a white-gloved hand.

Obviously, he was demonstrating the Xbox 360 version of the game while on stage at E3 2010. Ever since then, most assumed it would come to the PlayStation 3 and utilize PlayStation Move, but there was some question as to when that version would arrive. Now, publisher Ubisoft has confirmed that Child of Eden for the PS3 is still in development for the PS3 and won't be ready until September. The 360 version launches on June 14 in the U.S. and if you have the 360 and Kinect, you might want to don a white glove and give it a try. You'll certainly look cool doing it. For our part, we can't wait to see how it works with Move, and in general, we just love the idea of a spiritual successor to Rez. Seriously, how many missed out on that Dreamcast gem? Too many, really.

For more information on the title, make sure to check out our preview.

this game looked like a lot of nonsense and bright lights. the people playing the 360 version look dumb as hell with the gloves on. i had a dumb ass ex-gf that loved shiney stuff. right up her alley.

No offence intended, but you should still respect her. I mean, you saw fit to date her.

And magpies have a tendency to steal shiny things so that's the implication of robinhood's question.
Peace.

Ubisoft, get your act together! I'm getting tired of this timed exclusivity and development favoritism crap.

I've been waiting for a Rez sequel since Dreamcast and PS2, and now I have to wait longer? Grr

I want to know why this couldn't be controlled directly by the PSEye? I know the tech of the Kinect is slightly more detailed, but the capture mechanics are nothing that couldn't be implemented into the Eye with a firmware update, surely? (Highlander, perhaps you could shed some light on this if you're around, or Temjin?) This is one of the games most tempting me to pick up a Move. I do like to be transported away, and this shows a lot of promise in that regard.

You know... now I'm thinking: Has flOw or Flower been patched to use Move? Because that would be sweet.
Peace.

i asked highlander a similar question and he said the capture technology was good enough in ps eye to do games similar to dance central. meaning it can track full body motion, and is already doing it in games like singstar. the real advantage kinect has on pseye is the infrared camera that can detect body heat. i hope that helps, but highlander is the real expert.

fllow and flower do not support move at this time.

Well this is totally not my thing, but it seems silly that it will not release at the same time. Maybe it's taking the devs a while to figure out how to use motion control that doesn't have a huge delay.

I did miss out on Rez. Should I pick it up?

At any rate, NObody looks cool using Kinect.

Edit: and only the late Michael Jackson can pull off a white glove.

Not even dancing along to Thriller on Michael Jackson: The Experience with a white glove on?

And don't lie. We all know you're just waiting for a Kinect swordfighting game so you can swing that Katana of yours around like a madman.

The Kinect could not even register my sword swings they are so quick. Folks don't even know they lost their neck until I'm like three blocks away :)

Yeah, but then World would have to make his very own one-of-a-kind Kinectana.

There are a few ninjas lurking the halls of PSXE. Temjin and Shams are forces to be reckoned with.

Wonder if it is another paid for delay by microsoft to avoid a direct comparison between the two versions because the controls will probably be better with move than with kinect.

i really don't care about this game, but i don't like ubisofts favortism to the 360. early dlc, and the ac series has always looked better on 360.
