Square Enix To Distribute Dead Island In North America
Some years ago, most would've been surprised by this announcement. ...but now, it almost makes sense.
Deep Silver and Square Enix have announced their collaboration to distribute Techland's promising action game, Dead Island, in North America. Square Enix has gone out of their way to find projects that appeal to the Western demographic, as most already know, so this fits right in with that business goal. Said Deep Silver Chief Operating Officer Geoff Milligan:
"Square Enix’s impressive distribution and marketing capabilities, combined with their proven success with launching top-notch AAA titles, makes them the absolute best partner for Dead Island. We’re thrilled to be partnering with their dedicated and talented team and look forward to collaborating with them in order to bring Dead Island to gamers."
You can find our in-depth preview of Dead Island here, and don't forget to check out the game's official website. Featuring a blend of first-person action and various role-playing elements, the game utilizes "engaging survival-focused gameplay." Weapons are few and far between and players will have to get creative with everyday items. Plus, we get four unique, customizable character classes and four-player co-op. Said Mike Fischer, Square Enix president and chief executive officer:
"Dead Island is a truly extraordinary title and we couldn’t be more excited about leveraging our unified Square Enix resources in bringing it to audiences in the Americas."
Dead Island is slated to arrive some time this year for the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC.

They wound up changing the original logo where the zombie was hanging from the noose, to just the zombie used now, that's on the ground & in a cross position, just because somebody had to pull a whiny tantrum & go biatching about it.
Let's hope they don't let those buttheads whine about something that's actually in the game too

The elements of the game sound interesting enough. But we all know that S-E has a strange idea of quality these days. Still, I guess we'll have to wait and see how this all turns out.
Peace.
P.S. I need to thank someone. The site is working properly now.
