Brink Stats Include Wacky Numbers Like "100 Quadrillion"
Well then...those are some pretty big numbers.
Splash Damage's intriguing new shooter, Brink, launches next week and for those of you looking for variety and diversity in their games, they've provided us with a special stat chart: yeah, over "100 Quadrillion Unique Characters." ...so, mathematically speaking, it'd be tough to find two players with the exact same character. Of course, maybe this isn't so unbelievably impressive when you factor in the body and facial customizations along with everything else; you know, ninety trillion different ways to fiddle with your nose, or something. Still, we get the drift and other stats are interesting, too: 45 different ways to die, 26,000 lines of dialogue, 4,500 individual weapon sounds, 4,963 weapon/attachment combinations, etc.
There's no doubt they went all out with this one; let's just hope the final product is worth the wait.

And Brink looks so interesting, too bad I'll have to pass on it.

My point was this guy saw Black Ops and was trying to get me to hop on the casual gamer FPS train, there are like 20 that come out a year, and they aren't anything special. A friend bought Crysis 2 for me because I knew I would hate it, and I was amazed how they thought adding the stress of monitoring an energy gauge during combat would be fun. Kudos to Crysis 2 for a long Campaign, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
Not saying Brink cant be good, it's just time to give the oversaturated market of FPS a break, it has been for a while now. Sorry for getting off topic lulz

I saw your post up a bit about the innovation in Brink I'll have to check out some vids on it and wait for a pricedrop if it piques my interest. I can't bring myself to pay full price for another FPS this year.

If Brink is still popular 6 months from now, I'll pick it up on sale somewhere. Still got Borderlands, Halo Reach, Killzone 3 and Resistence 2 to keep me happy.
Too many FPS' these days, makes it hard for any to last more than 6 months in terms of popularity and people still playing.
