Ghost Recon: Future Soldier Won't Do Battle Until Q1 2012
Hey look, the first game that found the holiday season far too intimidating.
Last year, we watched as a great many promising titles refused to combat the likes of Call of Duty: Black Ops, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Gran Turismo 5 and ran off into 2011. Now, after several delays, Ubisoft has confirmed that Ghost Recon: Future Soldier won't arrive until the end of the first quarter next year. In a post-earnings conference call, CEO Yves Guillemot said;
"It will be released in fiscal Q4 as we want first to have the best quality possible, as well as to avoid the very crowded Christmas landscape in the shooter genre."
Yeah, well, there are quite a few shooters scheduled for the third fiscal quarter, now aren't there? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 and Battlefield 3 are only two, but those are enough to scare just about any producer of a military shooter. Even so, let's not forget that Ghost Recon is indeed a little different from other shooters; that should count for something.

and whats with rainbow six?
one of the best modern shooters out there and we have not seen a iteration since 2007!
biggest injustice!
crap like COD gets released yearly, but gold like rainbow six and ghost recon we have to wait 4+ years for!

you dont have to spend 4+ years making a game for it to be good!
hell look at infamous 2, my jaws still on the flaw from last saturday and they only spent 2 years on that!
suckerpunch are a very small studio too, the guys who do the tom clancy games are easily double if not triple suckers size!
suckerpunch only had 70 staff at the peak of infamous 2s development.

We will be expecting a better game now, expectations are rising. This will be purchased and is looking like a great game.
Delays are always good for two reasons; the first is we will get an improved game and second is it allows us to play recent games that will be launched around it's original release date... But, there's also a good chance you will lose a good bunch of consumers because of the wait and other games jumping higher on the "Most have" or "most play" lists.
I hope that the reasons for the delay will be fixed and that this will be the last delay.
