Team Bondi On L.A. Noire: "We Led On PlayStation 3"
Hey, everyone wants to know why it took seven years to make.
And that's why you should check out the recent 1Up interview with Team Bondi boss Brendan McNamara; it simultaneously manages to answer a ton of questions and ratchet our excitement up another level.
One particular note of interest, though- for a while there, it was assumed that L.A. Noire would be exclusive to the PlayStation 3. But in 2008, it was reported that Team Bondi's promising detective drama had gone multiplatform. This left a sour taste in the mouths of some Sony loyalists but McNamara confirms that the PS3 was the lead development platform for L.A. Noire. In fact, he added that "most third-party studios" are using Sony's machine as the lead console in multiplatform projects. Remember, McNamama previously headed up Sony's Soho studio, which was responsible for The Getaway.
"For this project, we led on PlayStation 3, and in a way I think that's what most people are doing. We found out that people were doing 360 and then trying to get stuff across to PS3 and were struggling with it.
There seems to be less of a struggle to go the other way, I think. You hear things that you have to put a lot of effort into on PS3 and get it up and running pretty quickly on the 360. Then, like everyone else you have to scramble to get your framerate up."
If you weren't already aware, the game will ship on three DVD discs for the Xbox 360, while of course, there will only be one Blu-Ray disc required for the PS3 version. And typically, if one version of a game is a port, we recommend the other; i.e., just play the game on the platform it was initially designed for. Plain and simple.

Bayonetta was a 360 buy for me, clearly 360 was the main console designed for it, so it was a no brainer.
LA Noire is looking amazing, and is a definite Day 1 buy for me. I just hope the DLC promo code for the Naked City case will work, and the PSN will be up and running to accept it once the game comes out on Thursday (in Australia, always 2 days later here than simultaneuous US releases)
Finally, a GTA style game where you DON'T play as the crook, but play the good guy instead!! I've been wanting a game like this for ages!!!

I believe that this is Team Bondi's first game.
But TB was founded by Brendan McNamara(former Director of Development at Sony Computer Entertainment’s London Team, Soho Studio).
He was also the writer(& director) for the giant hit PS2 game, The Getaway.
And that game sold 4+ million.
Edit: Ha, Lawless's nimble finger's beat me too it.

BLASPHEMY, I SAY!!!
NEVER!!!
(well, at least not until I'm being viewed from above, clutching a PS5 in one hand & Killzone 7 in my other just before they close the casket).
BTW, If I hadn't screwed up & put my post in the wrong place the first time, then erased it & added a disclaimer, & then found the right the sweet spot to post it, I would have beat ya, LOL
Edit: Nope, just checked it & you would've still beaten me by a couple minutes. LOL

its like getting your qualifications, then starting in Ferraris F1 team!
i hope it pays of for them, there betting the farm on this.
i just cant believe 2K funded them for it, i mean you would think they would say its too big a risk.
a veteran developer ok, but a newbie, a unproven studio?
oh well, so nice to see us showing the industry how its done!
now hopefully pubs will realize we can do more then mobile games, and will start to see more dev studios opening up.

Still, it's good to have this confirmed as it means that it'll likely not face the same issues that GTA and RDR did in the texture loading and sub-HD native resolution. Can't wait for this one.
Peace.

I'd like to see games in the near future that just bypass 360 and release on PS3 and Wii2 so there will be no more space concerns.

Also: sad because you guys get it on Tuesday. I have to wait until next Thursday. At least I'll be able to get WKC2 at the same time :D
Peace.

I have to say though that on some of the commercials, the faces look creepy because they're very realistic looking, but at the same time look like they were pasted onto the heads on the bodies.

If this game has no install, at least nothing over 2 gigs, I'm definitely getting the PS3 version. But if it's 5 and up, I may get the 360 version because I have nothing I want to delete off my hard drive now and inFamous 2 is coming soon, and it may have one as well.

Just before my Phat Princess was brutally murdered by the USPS aka the PBPD(package-bungling primates division),I had picked up a Western Digital 640 HD for only $69.99 on Amazon.
And I see often see 750GB's on sale here & there on different sites for around $80 to $90.
And I think that least one of our regular commenter's here has even put a 1TB HD into his, although I can't remember off-hand who it was.
Hope that helps ya

Edit - Oh yeah, I upgraded to a 500GB HDD and it was painless and brilliant! Another win for the PS3 compared to M$ money hungry upgrade options.

Just kidding.
Thank you all for your help and advice. Very much appreciated!! By now, people probably know I'm staunchly against the whole 'console war' thing, but I do prefer to get all my games on the PS3 and use my 360 and Wii primarily for exclusives. With a few exceptions ( like Bayonetta, I have the 360 version, but I also have the import and domestic PS3 versions as well.) I've managed to do that the entire gen. So I'm definitely going to look into these options when I get a free minute today. Thanks again.

it will be very interesting to read the face offs between the 2 versions. could this actually be one of those rare multiplats that turn out better on the ps3?
