Naughty Dog Showing Uncharted 3 In The Louvre Museum

A reader sent us this image and at first, I didn't quite recognize the world-famous Louvre Museum in Paris.

And when I did, I had no idea why I had it in my inbox. I get a lot of bizarre things, everything from Chinese publishers wanting me to test their new Android game to political newsletters (don't ask me how we get on certain mailing lists), so I wasn't surprised...but I was confused. However, there was a link; it sent me to Naughty Dog co-president Christophe Balestra's Twitter page, where it said:

"This is where I'll be showing #uncharted3 tonight..."

And hence, the image. Yes, Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception will be within the walls of The Louvre and to those who have seen parts of the game, that may not be a shock. But what I wouldn't give to be invited to that showing...the new Uncharted in a museum I'd kill to see in one of the most beautiful cities in the world?

I cannot think of a better place to show this game. It really is a unique piece of moving art in itself.

Great call Naughty Dog!! Placing yourselves amongst history's finest.

Wonder if the Louvre will be a location in UC3??
If it is then Drake will probably destroy it by accident during a firefight.
First a spanish colonial settlement in the south pacific,then a mythical kingdom in the tibetan mountains...
I love the fact that wherever drakes adventures take him,he's usually in awe of the location only for the location to get blow to bits....usually.

Come November 1st, we will have seen the Greatest game to date! The only way I an't getting this game is if I can't put gas in my Mustang. But That's just saying How likely I'll be playing this masterpiece on day one.

Take you time Nov. we are being patient. There's plenty of quality games coming between now and then and things outside of gaming that we all can be doing.

the uc series has done a lot to create positive buzz for the ps3. i still remember the reaction to uc2 coming out of e3. a ps3 game was getting tons of praise, and hype. a real shot in the arm for sony. it was almost like i stepped into an alternate universe.

i hope people make sure this is a day1 purchase. it deserves it. i know there are lot of frugal people here that wait for price drops, but this game deseves a day 1 purchase in my opinion.

i've seen trailers for multiplayer and they look great. hopefully psn will be stable by then. the outage is a real buzz kill for sony. i don't want it to impact the sales of the great exclusives coming. whoever these crazy people are trading in their ps3's are going to regret it. if the reports are right it's probably just cod shooter fans. oh well, that game is best suited for the 360 anyways.

Cripes, I hope that PSN is back up or the Apocalype does occur (preferrably, the former). Either way, I will be VERY, VERY happy to never hear about the outage again. No offense to you, Ex1. Not trying to be the opinion police. It's just that I'm reading and enjoying the Uncharted 3 love here, and-BAM!- outage, rumored 'mass exodus', etc.... I could use a good S3 Plan right now. Maybe the Patriots were on to something....

sorry porkchop, didn't mean to hit you with the outage. i was just thinking about those stupid people who have zero patience. i was also thinking about how great the multiplayer looked and that dragged my mind to psn stability. i seriously doubt there is a mass exodus or anything. those types probably would not have got uc3 anyways. it seems those headlines came from edge magazine. they give no actual numbers so it's hard to get a handle on it.

anyways guys, make sure to pick this game up day1. it has a lot going for it and deserves our support.

i reread your comment and realised that was a great metal gear reference. duh. heck, i thought s3 plan was part of sony's id protection plan. l can still say the word patriots so i might be okay.

Its being previewed in a frcikin museum like art!
Its in paris, in the louvre, both awesome places (been there, done that, got the tshirt etc and it was great)
We get to see some U3 on the net soon hopefully!

What a wonderful accolade... Uncharted 3 will be THE game to own... it will be an incredible piece of art... and it will show off the PS3 the way it was meant to be... only now will we see the true power of the dark side...

Infamous 2 and uncharted 3 are the only games on my full price radar this year. Well, and motorsstorm, I bought it with th intent to sell it after review, but it's too dang fun to let go for 45

Hell of a place to be showing off UC3. And who says that games can't be art? This is going to be in the same building as the Mona Lisa. Sure, that doesn't REALLY mean anything, but still... that's crazy.

I need to visit the Louvre some time. They should also have a permanent demo set up all the time. That would surely increase visitation.

Why wasn't this advertised as highly as the "L.A. Noire at Whatever-it-was Film Festival" headline? Its just as good, if not better.

I'm not bitter though, I'm just sayin. Plus, either way, this game definitely deserves it. Even from the little we've seen of it I think that it deserves it.
